Poor Murray won't make it past the first round. RBA is only a pusher but he'll keep the ball in play enough to move Murray around too much for his hip. Tough first round match for his last AO.

Wow, Rafa, Roger, Andy, Tsitsipas and Cilic all starting out of the gate, on the men's side. Let the sleeplessness begin!

I will watch Rafa who will probably start around 9 pm Eastern time and then I will go to bed and have a perfect night sleep. :sleep2: :good:

Hopefully in the morning I will wake up, open the tv, and watch the final moments of Roger's match as he loses in the 5th set after wasting 10 match points. :yahoo: :yesyes:

:ptennis:

Oddly enough I don't think I ever saw Murray grabbing his own hip.

Nah man, I think he grabbed everything except his D on court. Maybe he was afraid of getting busted for sexual harassment.

The experts are unanimous that Novak will win this AO . I guess it only means Novak will trip somewhere along the way.

Also, several experts picked D-Minor as the dark horse. So, at the least he should be able to take out Ralph.
The organizers were not supporting D minor to have more rest after his win in Sidney where he had to play 2 matches on Saturday.
He asked for his match to be moved to Tuesday, but he was denied. He complained on the media about it.

Your dumb enough to play the week before the major and you live with the consequences.

am cheering on Roger but if he looses then young Alexander Zverev would be a second choice.

It's not that it's dumb, necessarily, but it generally signals that you don't think much of your chances at the Major. DeMiñaur is young, plus he was playing a local tourney. Good for him for winning it. But this is another reason that I don't peg him to upset Rafa. If he comes off a tourney win, keeps his powder dry and upsets a multi-Slam winning champion in the 3rd (?) round, then I'd say he's got solid top of the Next Gen cred, with a bullet. When was the last time we saw this from a teenager? I don't want him to do it, but if he does, I'll be on the D Minor train.

"Dark Horse." That is the phrase I was looking for. I have to say, I saw a headline on ATP, I think, "3 Reasons that Djokovic Could Win the AO." Honestly, that made me laugh. Surely there are at least 6+. Those of us who are fans of others are hanging onto his most recent losses. This is his favorite slam, so we'll see if he's really back in invincible mode, but the Magic 8 Ball does say that "Chances are good."
