What’s the rule on stopping play with a roof? Allowed to Play through the night?OMG. It is a quarter to 6. When will this end?
If this keeps going on, will they put Nadal/Djokovic on Court 1?
But you’d miss this fun! This is the kind of match where you'd wished Wimbledon had adopted the 5th set tiebreak.
I think they will wait until after 6 before they decide to move the other match to another court. Theoretically w/ the roof closed they can play until 11pmWhat’s the rule on stopping play with a roof? Allowed to Play through the night?
There's no more than 30-35% chance of rain rest of the evening. No reason to close the roof, except darkness...do they need the roof to use the lights? And hopefully close the roof

But they should wait to close the roof until it is actually getting dark, not start that way just because, right?I think they will wait until after 6 before they decide to move the other match to another court. Theoretically w/ the roof closed they can play until 11pm
Right. Let's say this match finishes in the next 20-30 minutes. They will bring the other match on CC to play until it gets dark. Then they will access at 9pm whether the roof needs to be closed if they are still playing at that timeBut they should wait to close the roof until it is actually getting dark, not start that way just because, right?

So the 2nd match could start with the roof closed and end the next day with outdoors?
It's an outdoor tournament, and should be played outdoors to the extent possible.I don't care about that, the play will resemble more of a grass court. If the peasants chances are tied to how high a ball bounces on a fricking grass court he doesn't deserve to win
Right, but they normally default to this is an outdoor tournament. As long as they can play w/ the roof open they will. We're talking about 2 hours from 7-9. The match could be over in 2 hours (who knows). Not sure. They may not want the tempo of the match disturbed by roof closing operation which takes about half an hour.
Especially, when the match is starting after 7 p.m., they might want to close the roof right from beginning.
