I see it both ways really. They both had extended periods where they were dictating play. I thought Nole really struggled in the big moments on return but stepped up on serve. Nadal seemed way more steady compared to Nole after the first set when Djoker was in video game mode.

I don't think Novak dictated play for any sustained period... he hung in there though, and showed big balls when it mattered... and capitalized on the few chances he got at the end. Championship stuff though... overall I'd say he was second best for the most part and still brought home the bacon.

I must say that Nadal appeared to be in control most of the time in the match. But, I will take a win for Novak any way it comes.

Commiserations to Nadalites though.

Totally agree. I don't think Djokovic played very well overall.

Overslept and missed it...oh well.
Proud of Nadal for regaining some confidence on grass and fighting till the bitter end.
Congrats to Nole fans on another Wimbledon title!

Nadal played his best on grass. Djokovic did not even come close to playing his best and still had more in the end than Nadal.
Are you sure Nadal played his best? come on, starting with the service Novak has done much better and of course we also know that he plays better in Indoor than Nadal though this one has showed that he can play well too. Just a very fine line has been between to win and to lose but I think the good resistance has been the real winner

Not so sure about that yet. If he returns as badly as he did today, there's definitely a chance he can lose against a guy who holds serve pretty routinely most of the time. All it takes is one bad service game from Novak per set and there have been many.

^I totally agree. Novak is not returning like he used to yet. And he really was quite fragile today. That pushing won't work against Anderson

Thank god. Tennis and humanity saved. Thank you Novak and welcome back!

Shame it isn't Fed in the final cause a Fed vs Djokovic would've been a cracker of a final. But tennis saved so I'm relieved.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee he wins the final

Ya'll think Anderson can produce that serving game for a third time after two 5 setters?
Seems like a lot to ask...

Federer made him look a lot better than he was that day. 23 or whatever it was straight holds but, all the same, his down the tee serves are very fast and accurate and Novak won't get to many of those imo. I don't think he needs to serve that well if Novak's returning sucks because his own ground strokes are pretty solid. He's got a very good two handed backhand that he whips really fast for winners and a decent forehand. Even a serve that isn't an ace is enough to get the upper hand in the point if Novak's returning is as bad as today.

A lot will depend on Novak tbh as I don't expect Anderson to be THAT tired. His marathon match yesterday was after all an ace fest so it shouldn't be as draining as an actual match where both guys were running around like energizer bunnies. He definitely got the better opponent to stand a chance of winning against too imo.

Another thing to consider is Anderson knows this may be the last slam final he ever gets to so he's gonna go all out. Doubt he was too happy with his performance against Nadal at the USO and he shouldn't be, as it was downright poor. He knows he has to do a lot better tomorrow and will work hard to do so. A win wouldn't surprise me at all.

Djoker already had one big match with Andreson, I think it was on Wimbledon. We will see, i think Anderson might be off in two 5 setters.
