congrats Novak. Amazing to think that it's been 15 years since one of the Big 4 didn't win Wimbledon. Only the AO can also say that

wonder if 4 players have dominated a tournament to such an extent before. probably the greatest generation in tennis. doubt well ever see that again

Anderson was definitively gassed from the previous matches, awful serving first two sets.

Novak gets back into top 10 in rankings.

Also, can get back to top 8 before USO by doing good in Toronto / Cincy.

Congrats to Novak. I think his comeback is complete. I did not watch the match unfortunately but the first two sets either mean Nole was out of this world or Kevin just could not get the legs moving. You guys let me know which one, or maybe a bit of both.
Congrats to Kevin too. It was always going to be an uphill battle.

^Anderson's serve had no bite. Not sure Novak did that much. He was just the stone cold champion he is. Anderson was always going to have be special, but unfortunately he didn't have the energy or legs. I think he put up some resistance near the end but I'm not sure anyone has ever reeled Novak back from 2 sets up before, and it wasn't happening today

For another year Wimbledon is over & done.
This year we had sun.
Some people had fun.
Everyone shared the highs & lows.
Today it came to a close.
A lot of results were unexpected but that's how it goes.
We had unexpected winners & unexpected losers too.
Some people were disappointed but there's not much you can do.
Upsets we've had quite a few.
That's it now for this year.
Some fans were so full of good cheer.
Some fans needed to drown their sorrows with plenty of beer.

I hope you all had a good time.
I hope some of you enjoy my rhyme.

Melzer at RG 2010, df reminded us today. Yeah Anderson’s tank was empty.

Congrats to Nole. Glad to see he's gotten his head out of his butt. Let's see if it lasts. My prediction at the start of the year was that he'd win the US Open...cuz I didn't think Roger would choke away a match to Kevin Fricking Anderson! I think I said back in early clay season that if he didn't have his caca together by August I'd stick a fork in him for this year. So the good news is - he's 3 weeks ahead of my schedule! :lulz1: Let's see if he plays Canada or skips it. Same for Roger - does he go defend his 600 points or skip it and go to Cincy?

I didn't even bother to get out of bed to watch the match. I figured after 2 long 5 setters Angderson would have nothing left and if Nole showed up healthy he'd win in about 2 hours. Don't know what the match time was...but when I checked the score at 10:40 the match was over...sooo....

I really really hope he skips Canada. Go to Cincy, build your confidence up, but don't tire your old self out I say

Well, congrats Novak Djokovic on winning his 4th Wimbledon title.
Congrats also to Anderson on managing to come back from a two set thrashing and to make the 3rd set much more of a competitive final that Wimbledon deserves , almost take into a 4th set (several sets points unable to convert).

This is the 3rd Wimbledon final in a row to be decided in straight sets, both Men's and Ladies. Not good considering it is the holy grail of tennis. Be interested to see what the tv ratings in the US and UK are like.

Went out to watch the World Cup today, and so missed the match, though, based on a skim over the chat thread, I didn't miss much. Congrats to Novak and his fans. It's been a long time coming to have a big win to celebrate, and I know that has been tough.

can't believe the WC is over ! Next will be Qatar in November/December 2022 !

As to the men's final, you DIDN'T MISS MUCH. Must rate as one of the worst standard men's finals of the championships history.
