It's not clay court tennis. It's just not grass tennis. Or indoor HC or carpet.
And you see with some of these big hitters with their shots going nowhere when you expect them to skid. And in this match, the average number of shots for a single point seems close to that of clay courts. Disappointing!Being able to stand a mile back on return and easily neutralize points on a slow court while waiting for a miss or a short ball to pounce on. Sounds a lot like clay court tennis to me.
Thiem just hitting weak shots off balance and easily getting out of position. That's cake for Nadal
Does Thiem have the "fight back" to make the fourth set competitive?

Let's just get the vocabulary straight: When Roger loses, he's choked, no matter how early in the match. And anybody who takes Rafa to task and doesn't close even sets, he's a choker. Even though Rafa is #1 in the world. OK, that makes sense. This guy is just a choker
He had his chances and he pulled back just a little! It doesn't take much to give a match back to the Big 3! They pounce when able!
His mental game is just part of the problem. He has atrocious court positioning and no anticipation.
