Can anyone tell me what is the difference between a clay court match and a moder US Open match like the one we are seeing?

I am liking this Thiem. He is a weird player it is like he takes a step forward then two steps back.

Practically no difference.
That seems an agenda-driven point from both of you. This is wildly different from clay court tennis. No really sliding into the ball. More net play. Only the baseline game, but everyone plays a baseline game now. Do you talk like that when Djokovic plays?

This whole USO is like “Cool Hand Luke” with rackets.

I need a shower...
In the sense that we have a "failure to communicate?" Or a chain gang in the heat?

Nadal standing in New Jersey. Pathetic display of hard court tennis but he will get his precious break back. Clay court tennis.

Proving once again that you don't understand clay court tennis. You think it's really just about standing back and playing long rallies. Pffft.

Figured he'd choke there. Peasant knows when it's time to grind. This will end up an easy night for him.

I rarely speak on this, but I would say that even with Djokovic. We need more surface variety.

Being able to stand a mile back on return and easily neutralize points on a slow court while waiting for a miss or a short ball to pounce on. Sounds a lot like clay court tennis to me.

It's not clay court tennis. It's just not grass tennis. Or indoor HC or carpet.
