Djokovic is the record title holder here.

Even granpa Fed won on his return. He was a favorite, but Chung played lights out today.

Tough loss for your man tonight, and I'm sorry, for you, as a fan. Nole has said the arm wasn't 100%, so it was probably too much to come all the way back, just yet.

Just because you don't want to say he was hampered by injury. He's coming back from a long time off, and he fully admits that his arm still hurts. Chung is coming well into his own since last fall. I think we can see that 2 things can converge. Anyway, great win for Chung. I liked that he got to give a speech in Korean.

As I said I saw no sign of injury. In fact his form improved as the match wore on. What is the utility of speculating on something that wasn't in evidence, that became less likely as the match wore on? I don't see anything converging other than your natural predilection for that rationale...

The commentators kept saying, and showing where he seemed to cringe and favor that arm. Novak has said his elbow wasn't 100%. But, yeah, now I am mostly just poking at you. LOL.

If the arm wasn't 100% or very close to it he shouldn't be playing. The guy is 30 which is now no longer ancient and if it takes another 3-6 months to be fully right I'd think he'd have the sense to do that.

I repeat... again.. I didn't see it. Perhaps you should go to Specsavers? :D And since when am I going to take the word of commentators, who are just as bad as fans in terms of bias a lot of the time? Join me... use your own eyes... after your visit to SpecSavers of course... ;)

Just wait until I come in for my bragging rights over @britbox . I was trying to champion the kid a couple of years ago when I saw him play at the USO, and the Baron was poo-pooing me.

Do you actually have him over Djokovic on your bracket? Because I do... If yes, then were the hell is the high five emoticon on this site?

Seriously thou, Djokovic was visibly rusty and probably lacking confidence on his elbow. Still a great showing from Chung.

Chung you absolute legend. Heroic stuff.
Did you guys catch the on court interview?
Jim asked him how did he feel in that third tie-break when he was in a losing position.
Chung:
I can play at least 2 more sets, I am younger than Novak, no problem. LOL.
Legend. His forehand is awkward at times, but beautiful and potent when on the run. Incredible winners.
As my buddy form college said:
If it looks stupid, but it works, it ain't stupid.
Also, Djokovic is such a jerk. Obviously exaggerating the injury, and the grunting JESUS.

Just look at this footage :

come on, i'm not a big fan of Djoko but you can see from this vid too he was playing short as fuck, did he pick up this shitty habit from the unconfident Nadal?

This Djoko is not even 60 percent Djoko and everyone's raving.....

Now peeps are gonna troll poor Djoko fans 'til kingdom come with this shit match where the real Djoko wasn't even present... oh well, life can be ugly :p

That that was not full flight Djokovic there is no doubt. I was thinking all the time that this version of Djokovic would be eaten alive by Federer. Having said that, it is a first step, he needs a lot more confidence and match practice, maybe even more healing and strength. He will surely be a huge factor at the second half of the year, and maybe as soon as the clay season. It will take a huge effort but he is no stranger to that. He knows damn well he can still do way better than this.

Mostly disappointed by the huge amount of ufe's and the serious mental lapses. A few times he just hit a return like he didn't care whether it would go out or in.

not too disappointed for Nole, his doctors said before AO that his elbow wasn't at 100%, he decided to play nevertheless but I didn't expect him to win, I just want him to be healthy. Sir Andy took the right decision, maybe Nole should consider surgery

Yeah, Djoko this match: hit shortass fartballs to the middle of the court for 1 min, get bored, bash it in the net..... just lollll

Fan reaction: omgz!!!! omgz!!!!! the best Djoko we ever saw was dethroned by an instant legend.....

from now Djoko fans do as much as fart or something the reaction will be something like:

what were his team thinking allowing him to come back if the elbow isn't fully correct? He doesn't want to end up having Delpo type injury layoffs...

[EDIT: misread so deleted the top part of my post]

As to Chung, I've taken a liking in him for a few years now and I like his game a lot. I hope he can keep it up and play well against Sandgren. Hopefully he plays Fed but I don't have much hopes to be honest. If he plays like today he does have a shot I think.

Yes this is a bit worrying. I'm really not liking this injury anxiety.

Does anyone watched Berdych against Fognini? Judging from the highlights it was one of the best performances I've seen from Berdych, and he is riding on the back of an excellent win against del Potro.Given Miami last year and Federer's own ups and downs, not a given by all means. Obviously Federer still the favorite, but I am quite far from sure that both him and Nadal reach the semis. I won't be that surprised if at least one cannot go further...

Hmm you must be one of the most unpleasant posters since Retardo.

There are only two regular Djokovic-fan posters out here and on of them is me. I was not impressed with Djokovic today. I suggest you read my comments in this thread. The other is herios who is a seriously reserved poster.

Berdych is hitting the ball very well, and I also think he has a chance against Federer. Federer has been passive so far.

Berdy was straightsetted by Fed the last two editions. I don't expect Tomas to do much.

I hope Chung is able to keep it up and give Fed trouble in the semis (if he beats Sandgren). Chung has a lot of Rafa/Djokovic in him.

So I guess Chung is the only player left in the tournament that you are like. How about Nadal, Cilic or Dimitar?
