While we are at it with the bragging rights, I was already on board when I saw him play Wawrinka at the 2015 USO.

But this match is not over yet.
I'm going to brag on Chung after this, however it comes out. :)

Chung is playing some awesome and composed tennis. But it's hard to say that Djokovic is 100% of his best. Whatever that means at this stage.

hence my observation about rustiness..

What a match by Chung. Where was the cuddle at the net from Novak?

Pff tough loss. Great win by Chung, the better player today.

I hope he keeps this level up against Sandgren and Federer. And hopefully against Nadal. But its a tough ask for someone who has not been beyond round 3 in a slam before.

Like I said when we started talking about 2018, jury's out on Novak. He gets a pass for the first half of the year in my book. But those who thought he had chances here in AO?....

Where has this guy been though? Love his game. Would love to see him in and around the bigger tournaments. At the very least we should see him in Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo this year

I was also asking where this guy has been. His shot selection is unbelievable.

Djokovic is the record title holder here.

Even granpa Fed won on his return. He was a favorite, but Chung played lights out today.

Losing early at 250 events mainly and the occasional challenger. He got in a few decent results at masters events. Ranking has been 50-100 since late 2015 when he won a ton of challengers.

He won last year's next gen tournament: he beat all his peers: Rublev and the other russians etc. He beat Zverev on clay last year.

Just because you don't want to say he was hampered by injury. He's coming back from a long time off, and he fully admits that his arm still hurts. Chung is coming well into his own since last fall. I think we can see that 2 things can converge. Anyway, great win for Chung. I liked that he got to give a speech in Korean.

I betting half of the country was watching this match (its evening there). First SK to make the fourth round at a slam.

It could be he is just having the tournament of his life, but he looks like a consummate player.
