We never talk doubles here... I watch it now and them. I actually quite like doubles in Davis Cup, and watch some at majors and masters. Maybe we should open a thread about it.

Looking forward to the Berdy - Fussovic QF ;)
fyi, Federer practiced with Fucsovics in Stuttgart then he practiced with him for a week in Switzerland...

Also, Djokovic likes Fucsovics a lot, he practiced with him many times....

You see, the top guys like him a lot because he's a cool player and person...

Anyway, ofc Federer is the favourite of this match......

Fucsovics has the talent and the potential to be multiple GS winner as i said before..... however, everything favours Fed here, this is the first time Márton got this far in a GS....

Also, Fucsovics in the past was not only a big party boy like Gulbis but also a headcase, for example he choked in most of the TBs......

In addition to that, he lost the Seppi match this year that he should have won... and as we know Seppi is not Federer...

However, Marci seems to be on fire atm.... and he's got the full package.... Stable FH, BH, variety, aggressivity, easy power, ability to hit great angles, great movement.... (He likes to slice a lot and his slice is still kinda weak, imo Fed's gonna exploit that) He's also great at counter-punching..... Not Bouchard-like counter-punching, he has great technique... And he can hit winners from anywhere on the court.....

So yeah, he's unknown, he has no GS experience but if his head stays stable and he has sufficient endurance he can beat Fed..... Especially since Fed seems shaky this tourney.... maybe he has extra gears maybe he doesn't... ofc anything can happen, he's a Fed fan so he can go into fanboy mode, he can have a meltdown but for now i'm optimistic.....

Anyway, his plan for this year is to stay in the top 100..... and his fans know that too..... I was just expressing my happiness he has a chance to play with Fed, no matter what the result will be, and i won't be very surprised if he manages to pull off the upset cause i know his potential, that's all..... The best thing about this is that it's obvious now that he grew up, and there are great matches and titles for him in the (maybe not too distant) future.....

He has my attention now for sure. And don’t get me wrong, I’ll be even rooting for him against Fed.

Nekro, you seem very familiar with Fucsovics, including his nick name, Marci. Are you Hungarian by any chance?

No I have not read the article yet, but I promise I will tonight, as I am interested by him. I am curious how much he will be able to achieve in the future, because his break through is something exceptional.

Just got up and see Berdych is annihilating Del Potro.

The match was just starting when I went to bed and DelPo didn't look good at 2-all. I think it was Darren Cahill that mentioned he may have a calf injury. I just sort of rolled my eyes. Can DelPo go an entire tournament without an ailment? I like him, but damn, dude, suck it up. Halep's playing on a bad ankle and her opponent lost a toenail at 11-all in the 3rd and still played to win instead of just caving in. Looks pretty wimpy when a 6'6" guy is always "nursing an injury" or an illness during a big match. I like DelPo...but sheesh...

DP is going out in straights. Lol at those who thought Berdy would be a walkover.

I hang my head in shame... Haven't seen the match so I have no idea if Berdych rolled him or DelPo just didn't play well. But still...he was my dark horse to win the tournament...

Ramos is just the perfect player to play Novak into form. I’ve seen some really good stuff today. He needed that as I expect Chung will be more of a challenge than people realise.

The way Chung was swinging for the fences against Zverev - IF his serve holds up, yeah, he could give Djokovic a tough match..

WTA related comment but delighted that pos Dopapova is gone. Good riddance to bad rubbish as they say. Good weekend so far.

Here, here. I was glad to see it was a fairly routine win for Kerber.

Yeah. This first week has been somewhat slow on the men's side, and Zverev + Wawrinka being out weakens the bottom half of the draw, and by extension, the quality of some quarter finals, but the semis are shaping up to be amazing. Still some ways to go though,

Yes, certainly it was not interesting. Normally, I watch lot more matches even in the early rounds. This year, I did not find many interesting early matches at all.

I hope PCB at least gives Cilic a run for the money.
