Zverev is young and has time to improve, but winning a total of FIVE points in the fifth set? Seriously?

He still needs to improve his movement and conditioning.

One thing I will say is that despite his very young age (and we shouldn't be too harsh on him), he needs to sort out some problems before they become habits, and then, before you know it, you're no longer too young and still struggle to shake off bad habits. See Dimitrov, Grigor.

Oh Roger... serves him right for losing concentration. I think this is a function of the level of competition so far. I think he has more gears

Agreed. That's why I have been referring to Zverev and Thiem as fake elites. They may be top 5 but that's due to the crazy injuries of last year. Neither of them are slam threats at all yet.

Roger's forehand has been pretty crappy this tournament too. Also seeing some of the old awful approach shots he used to hit. He is going to have to step it up in the second week.

I agree, but this match is surely an improvement over the last one.

Wow, looking at the list of 4th round match-ups, other than Kyrgios vs. Dimitrov, they are VERY underwhelming.

His forehand is just terrible this match. If I'm Gasquet I'm aiming everything there

Some of the shots are spectacular. I think Gasquet is just having fun, while Roger is already thinking about the next round.

see what I mean? another BH rally that results in MP

Fed's serve, backhand and movement look plenty strong. Get the forehand and ROS to join the party and he would win this event.

A workmanlike performance from Roger. It was not an easy match.

I think Chung defaulted on his doubles match tomorrow. I assume to be ready for his 4th round match singles.

Hewitt/Groth in the doubles is getting a lot of attention here in Oz. They just knocked out the third seeds Roger & Tecau.
