As good as Roger can hit the drop shot I almost wish he pocketed that shot. He really brings it out at the worst times

Anyone else notice that Roger is consistently hitting his 2nd serve harder than ever before. That must have been something he's tried to add in the offseason.

yes that's been noticeable, particularly at key moments

If that radar is right it seems like Rodge is averaging close to 105 MPH on 2nd serves

To me he looks more unninterested than anything else, and I don't like that -- but that's just me. Anyway attitude seems to have changed.

oh he definitely is. It's a constant problem for him when he thinks he has a match in the bag. I used to be ok with it until the Tsonga disaster at Wimbledon some years ago :banghead: Now it makes me uncomfortable too!

Also this guy isn't too bad. He's hitting big and 2 things: 1. Roger doesn't handle power as well as he used to and 2. he hates hates hates when he isn't fully dictating play.

Whether it's being disinterested or just a random lull it's a bad thing. He didn't have many of those last year.

True. And also his 1st serve percentage has gradually picked up through this set, so he's able to pay more attention to Roger's serve. I actually think this is good for Roger, a little bit of stress to get the juices flowing. Not too much though hopefully

What the hell Federer was thinking on those two break points?

He looks like Montreal last year. The ugly alter ego I call "Vanilla Fed" has appeared today.

Got to put this away now. You don't want a big hitter growing in confidence when you're not feeling the ball well

Bit of credit to Struff though... he's not going away.

definitely agree. What is it with some of these guys. The way he's playing you would expect to have seen more of him. He's 27yrs old. Clearly a big match player

Seems to be yet another late bloomer. I think last year was his best so far but yeah he's pretty decent. Playing above his ranking

In the second set Roger was getting good bite on the slice and it was hurting Struff. This set it's just sitting up
