LOL! not comparation RG with this ugly Wimbledon and how everybody have played. Cojones? like Raonic coming from and injury and playing his worst? Berdych playing like a chicken s<>t ( sin cojones) and Cilic not idea if he had a broken bone of his toe, foot or head, I can't understand how he could reach the final, come on! UGLY! And wait.......the surface very slowww.....

Berdych played great but you clearly didn't notice. And the surface being so slow should have helped Nadal and clearly didn't help Federer one bit but there you go. Complaining about the surface being so slow after the guy you hate so much won makes zero sense seeing as it hurt him more than any of the other top seeds.

That is one match up I have waited for too long and I doubt it will ever happen.

I don't see it happening either. I see Nadal losing in the QFs at the US Open and Roger winning it. :lulz2: I'm mostly joking...but...if they're ranked 1 and 2 by the US Open then obviously they can't meet until the final. Since it's been 13 years since they started playing each other and it's never happened? I can't see it happening this year either.

And BTW - if Roger won the US Open and for 3 Slams...do you think he'd be kicking himself for skipping the French and not at least giving himself a shot at a Grand Slam? Somehow I doubt it. He was willing to give Nadal the clay. Very magnanimous of him. :lol6:

I don't hate anybody, I'm not like you feeling so much hate for Nadal but I'm tired about your complains, attacks and false accusations so take it like a man because everybody has the right to have their own opinion and not just what you want to read

If Roger would win the USO too be sure that not just me, other people would stop to watch tennis due to the poor competition and the bad level of the others players which could beat him very easy like they did before. Or maybe they should get that 'magic' racket that he has now? uh? .......:cuckoo:

The closest it came to happening Rafa made the appointment but Roger lost to what's his name. It is almost not meant to be...

I think you're forgetting Murray taking Rafa out of a semi in 08. They've both been guilty. Rafa more than Roger obviously

You heard it here folks!!! It's the poor competition. You are more than delusional. That poor competition includes your guy by the way. And who could beat Federer easily? I rather suspect he's been bagelled less than your fella, or others from the Top 4. Why do you come out with this garbage?? What is wrong with you?

The thing that bums me out is that people here (even today) have tried the same crap with Rafa to diminish his win at RG, including slagging Stan for wussing out in the final, not giving any quarter to the quality of the opponent, and Carol figures that's the way to play it against Federer in retaliation. There's a reason that each of them won a record number of titles at their favorite event, and without dropping a set. And it's mostly that they're vastly superior to the competition.

So it turns out it was a blister. I feel bad for Marin, but at the same time I've seen both Rafa and Novak play with bloody socks, and I didn't see them crying like little girls. I'm finding it hard to feel too bad. Richie McCaw played the finals with a broken toe for ffs... Man the hell up..

No, no. Everybody is right. They both suck. Good is some random guy who loses in the second round.

So happy today. Big feat he achieved today. You make everyone look poor when you are very great. Berdych was not very bad. Cilic was unlucky with his foot blister today. But, that cannot take away credit from Roger's win. Even if Cilic produced his best tennis today, Roger was not going to be easy (for anyone). When need to look at what happened, among the players up for the event, Roger won. So, he's the champion.

Yippee!!

True. He was just trying to reverse the momentum. His hope was that the crowd was going to feel sorry for him because of the tears. I like the fact that Roger remained focused. He knew the risks of assuming that the match was already won. Imagine if Cilic had won the 3rd set with those blisters. All the pain would have vanished.

It's not garbage, it's the reality if you like it or not. Poor tournament and more that ridiculous final with a player that not even could play well due to his foot but at least he has had the guts to play until the last point knowing that he went to lose. If I didn't like him too much before now I like him a lot more, a big applause for him
And clearly Federer is the most lucky player of all the tour so far, word!

Wrong, he lost because his opponent played better than him, not daubs about it, but I'm very disappointed about this poor overall competition, what a shame!

Don't think it was a conscious strategy by Cilic. More of desperation when overwhelmed by the occasion. He didn't have plan B which is a bit strange. Apart from serving very well Fed won the first set when he started taking the pace off the ball using his slice and variety on grass. This is an option Fed didn't have in Flushing. Cilic just folded after that. He didn't even try options like making it physical or hitting the ball very hard or hitting a few smash returns to make Fed hesitate on serve or get nervous.

This what separates players like Nadal and Djokovic. They do things that frustrate Federer. But both have higher margin games than Cilic.

I agree with some of what you are saying. He looked overwhelmed by the occasion. I think he was hitting the ball very hard, especially in the first set, but he began to miss midway in the set. Obviously, Nadal and Djokovic are more complete than Cilic, but so is Federer, and that is why Federer has 19, Nadal 15 and Djokovic 12 slams. They have won a lot because they all have the ability to adapt.

I haven't seen it yet, but someone told me it looked as if Cilic was having an anxiety attack! That's nothing new when it comes to Wimbledon; the "pomp and circumstance" makes it easy to be overwhelmed to win in an upset! Esp. in this era, one of the "Big 4" will continue to own the tour and no one should be surprised that Cilic wasn't up to the challenge! It's not his fault; kind of an affliction quite prevalent with the "also-rans" out there who will find a way to lose when it really counts! Cilic has all the ability in the world and I knew it wasn't worth waking up early to see! That 6-1 2nd set tells you all you need to know! It doesn't take a psychic to see where this is going as "ATP TOUR of 2006" Redux continues! :nono:  :banghead: :help:
