I think they are preserving the court for women's QF tomorrow.

No. Apparently, they cannot do that as people who paid money to watch Novak's match would not get a chance to do so if they switched it arbitrarily. You can switch a match from outside courts to show courts. But, you cannot do so from one show court to another show court.

Wow, amazing match. Congrats to Muller - what a performance. Now he's on to his first QF at a Slam, vs. Cilic. Gulp.

Nope, you are wrong. I vividly remember he playing Roger at US Open QF in 2008. He played that match also brilliantly and took it to TBS in two sets.

Who really cares about what the fans can see when it comes down to altering the schedule of play? I'm sure Novak would have rather played on Court 2 if it meant he could get his match in today.

The fans pay for the tickets so they actually fund a good bit of the tournament, so yes people should care about them. I know you know it, but that´s easy to forget.

And it's not like they didn't get their money's worth. They got to watch an additional 2 sets w/ the duration of the Nadal/Muller match. And what's wrong w/ moving the fans from Court 1 to CC?

Lost in all this is how did Andy, Roger and Milos look today? I see Dominic and Sasha both bowed out to their elders.

Yes it's on the Wimbledon website official OOP. Novak at Noon followed by the 2 women's QF. And they put him on CC because there's a good chance for rain tomorrow since it didn't come today.

Wait, so if Novak wins tomorrow he has to play again on Wednesday? Ouch.

Oh, it would be against Berdych - never mind.
So bad Dude. Practice session or not, I'm sure he would like a day off to get mentally ready for both practice sessions.

No doubt. Who knows, maybe we have a Berdy-Muller final.

Maybe.

I see your point, but I guess GSM answered that in post 1161. In this particular case it seems ok, but I would not be surprised if there is such a rule (that is, you can not move matches between show courts) exactly to preserver spectator´s interests. A fraction of the ticket buyers would not be able to see the match -- for whatever reason -- and it is probably due to that that they did not move the match. I agree with you that it seems harmless, though.

How many times does a shocker happen though? Nole owns a few players like Del Po, Berdych, Cilic, & Ferrer, then all of a sudden they step up and bite him in an important moment! Djoker has a clear advantage over Murray and Wawrinka, but they've thwarted him in major finals about as much as any top player! That's why I set them above players of past eras since the draws are so tough; the seedings protecting the top echelon to #32 in majors! In my day #17 could play #9 in the 1st round of the USO! McEnroe was taken out by Paul Annacone over 30 years ago! The Masters' Finals going to BO3 also helps their winning ways today! Fedalovicray have benefitted from these protections and are running away with the record books! I just can't see anyone in the near future able to muster the kind of excellence needed to overcome THEse GOAT's!  :ptennis:

I am not putting that much stock in to Djokovic just yet. He is improving, and he is the favorite, but his level is still, well, human. It is not impossible that he will find himself fighting for, say, four tough sets against Manarinno, and then face some trouble against a fresh Berdych. Yes, the H2H is almost absurd (25-2), but it was exactly on Wimbledon that Berdych got one of those 2.

Because of tradition, I'm sure it's some obscure policy that only SW19 possesses. Other slams would have made provisions to get his match played tonight.

This must be witnessed - I had to watch it a couple times. A simply unbelievable point.

1. Fan's pay for the matches and not for some number of hours in tennis.
2. You can't ask the fans to move from court 1 to CC because it is exactly the same fans who paid to see Rafa's match also.
