And Wawrinka is likely to face the same fate in the final. He will poound the backhand from beginning to end.
Annacone said that Rafa mixing it up more with other players was a good idea, but not with Roger. He says when they play again, he should go back to a steady diet of hammering the BH. I'm traveling and can only see scores, so it helps me to read what you guys have to say. I guess he's gone back to attacking the 1H BH, sounds like.

Thiem needs to fight really hard for his points. Rafa's serve is pretty decent and obviously Rafa is superconsistent. Gets everything back and then turns the rally around.

He was hitting to his backhand all year against him but Roger's backhand is massively improved. He can keep trying though. Roger won't mind anymore :)

Apart from attacking the backhand, he is simply in the zone. Nadal is easily getting into Thiem's service games. Thiem has to fight hard to win a game on his own serve, and he is under immense pressure..

You should ask Annacone about that. He saw it differently. And he should know.

Four sets to go for Nadal and if he loses less than 12 games, he breaks his own record.

Quarter to 8. So we're saying Domi doesn't get a set and this thing is over within an hour?

I think darth is right. With limited daytime availability, Rafa is all business and in no mood to donate a set. Expect the last set to be a double break win for Rafa.

Nadal wouldn't donate a set in the first place. But he is surely all business allright.

I don't think Wawa goes down without a fight, so the 2008 record probably remains intact.

Ah I see so I can't see apparently. Must go to the optician pronto. Rafa has been hitting to Roger's backhand all year. He knows no other way to beat him. Check the stats on Roger's backhand winners. He just has no strategy to beat him if Roger is hitting his backhand well now so Annacone is plain wrong. Roger won the Indian Wells match with a vicious backhand return of serve to which Rafa just shook his head in disbelief. Rally shots and many backhand returns are being pounded and the short balls are getting what they deserve.

He was attacking the backhand only at Indian Wells which is also pretty high-bouncing. Miami is where he mixed it up a lot.

I see that's already happened. 3-0. Has he broken Thiem's spirit? Is the kid still fighting?
