Well done by Grigor.
I am also in the camp that believes he is good now to make a surge back into the top 10 and stay there. A SF run here will help in that matter

I think Nadal makes the final. Not sure Raonic can stop him despite having steadily improved.

He and other Federer fans have said this already many times. That is not the reason we dislike him. It's his style of play we don't like. I'd rather watch Federer blast winners from every part of the court defeating top opponents in 90 minutes than watch an error filled slug fest of endless retrieving that's 4 hours long. Might as well just watch athletics if you like watching people run for hours.

Hey, and I don't like too much how Roger plays even that the last match played very well against an useless player like Berdych is but not for that reason I hate him as more than el Dude instists on it . I rather two thowsends times to watch Rafa when he is playing and serving well

Berdych is useless? Forgotten last year's result already? He didn't play badly at all and actually had fantastic serving stats and good ufe/winner ratio. Federer was just incredible and made him look bad. Also, I've already said I don't mind watching Nadal when he's playing well but he was not playing well today. There were practically no trademark down the line forehands and lots of moon balling and general slop. He did hit a few nice serves though. I've enjoyed watching many matches where he was playing very well. This was not one of those days and both guys stunk for large parts of the match. Zverev got cramps and could barely move and yet still Nadal wasn't winning points with winners and engaging in the usual dogfights and waiting for his opponent to miss which he ultimately did.

Rafa sometimes was passive and also aggressive when he needed to be, also his serve was pretty good too. If we start to talk about the players getting cramps during a match then we wouldn't stop for hours because the long list of them

I also think Rafa makes the final. It seems like he has his physicality back. He is able to fight, like he used to do years ago.

Never said other players didn't get cramps too. All I meant was it wasn't a very good match 'cos right after winning that 37 stroke rally, Zverev could no longer move properly and was hobbled the rest of the match. Therefore, not good viewing for spectators.

Well, like McEnroe said: " Nadal usually makes his opponents to suffer a lot of pain".

Not really that much to do with Nadal. More a case of he's very young and hasn't played many 5 set matches that went the distance yet so he needs to work on his fitness. Making it a 5 set match was his own fault. He was ahead by a set and then later by 2 sets to 1. With less silly errors and better serving he'd have won in 4.

stop stop not this time Front you are not going to get away with the same ole bullcrap. Blaming Rafa opponents for their errors that you feel hampered their chances to defeat Rafa. Rafa is one of the all time great players and Roger considers him a one of the greatest talents and likes his character more than the rest. Damn..you go too far

I feel hampered his chances? Wtf is that, AP? They obviously hampered his chances lol. He hit tons of routine easy put away volleys straight into the bottom of the net. That's clearly not gonna win you any big matches. As I said earlier, for now I can see him only beating big four members in best of 3 format for 2 reasons: (A) fitness and (B) he makes too many errors to win in best of 5 for now imo. After he started cramping he made even more errors which is completely understandable as he tried to end points even quicker due to hampered movement. The fact that you get so easily agitated about obvious reasons why Nadal's opponents lost is frankly baffling. I said nothing that wasn't true. Absolutely nothing.

Front.. I know you watches Rafa matches with the intent on looking for a Rafa's loss.. I am ok with that..but what you do every damn time is gives no credit to Rafa or his opponents play.. Zverev played like a Beast and it took a man to slay him..

I don't think he played like a beast personally. He was much, much better against Roger in Hopman Cup and could barely play the last 2 sets due to cramping. Nadal did what he had to do, endure the big serves when they actually landed in (many didn't) and wait till his opponent unraveled physically. As soon as Zverev started cramping it was game over.

Nadal had to have finished the match in three or four sets but his silly unforced errors in the first one and in the tie-break of the third made the match to last longer, as clear as Crystal
Maybe Zverev will be "someone" in the future but meanwhile he has still a long way and work to do, at 19 he should be better fitted and having more resistance but maybe the frame of his body and height is not helping so much, we'll see in a couple of years. To me Kyrgios is better player in spite of his stupidity

I agree with you, Carol. I also consider Kyrgios a better player. Just a shame he's a headcase and can't use his talent properly. No way he should have lost to Seppi on this fast court with his big serve and from 2 sets to 0 up.

I only saw the first three sets of the Nadal/Zverev match. Well done by Rafa taking care of business, and I think Zverev showed, with some more muscle/better fitness, that he's a contender for #1 in a few years (as Rafa himself has said). It's been a while since I've watched a Rafa match and was wondering if the umps have given up entirely on time violation warnings?

Only around 3 umpires on tour hand out time violation warnings really. Rest are cowards.

krygrios is more talented player but will not win as many titles as AZ will win. We all know how I feel that Nicky K can't harness his emotions but AZ game is more conventional with more fundamental techniques.

That's what I figured. If I were playing Nadal, I'd complain to the ump about time violations. It would obviously have to be a player : a)of some renown; and/or b)with guts to do so. Has Roger ever complained that anyone can recall?

Sascha is currently working with the former physio of Andy Murray. He is good hands. I am sure, he will be physically fit in a couple of years.
