MISS Carol.. what the status of Rafa’s knee.. I s he training again or still chasing afterwards Tiger
I haven´t heard too much about it, I know he is in Spain already receiving different awards here and there but nothing about practicing, only an interview by Uncle Toni saying that Rafa has still time to be ready for the next tournaments but I have not any idea if he will play in Abu Dhabi or his first tournament will be in Brisbane

Hope you still think O'Shaughnessy's article is interesting now that it's been announced that he'll be working with Djokovic for the AO and possibly beyond (allegedly it's because he didn't play either Federer or Nadal in 2017 and both guys have retooled their games and patterns). It says a lot about a possible lack of confidence going into 2018 that Nole feels he needs a numbers whisperer.

IIRC there are quite a few junior German players who train at Nadal's academy. Presumably Boris is there to check on them since he's now the head of the German tennis federation.

...and looking for a new coaching job! From what I've heard, he needs any spare change that falls out of people's pockets!

Now, now. No need for slurs. I don't like Nadal but WTH has tabasco got to do with Spain? It's an American condiment invented by an Irishman after the civil war and most heavily used in Louisiana by Cajuns. If you're going to insult the man at least make it germane to his nationality.

Yeah, I'm sure Boris is looking for coaching prospects - but who has enough money to pay his asking price except the top 4 guys (and maybe Nishikori since he makes scads in Asian endorsements) - and none of them are going to hire him.

Do you really think trying to find help by so many coaches/advisers can help? we'll see...but it could be a double-edge sword

Do you remember when we were discussing Bedene deciding to play for Britain? He has now changed back to Slovenia. I guess he thinks Slovenia sounds better than Britain nowadays because American first lady is from there. ;)

Speaking of Melanija, she was born in the same country where I was born.

When he joined Nole, I said Becker wouldn't dare to coach someone without several slams won already.

Well he's going to go broke if Rafa or someone else doesn't come along needing his view on winning majors since Fedalovic have just about owned the tour for over 10 years! This is unprecedented dominance in the OPEN era! Generations ago it happened a lot more often with players like Tilden, Budge, and the 4 Musketeers of France! In the Open era even BORG lost sometimes! Fedalovic have decimated hope in winning anything major with a physically able top 100, but mentally they're all underachiever who're gutless and can't seem to finish off upsets! Connors, Borg, McEnroe, Lendl, and even the GOAT of the past era Sampras wasn't invulnerable and it's what made the sport "must see" TV! I can skip matches now that I never would have decades ago! Going for broke with mindless aggression just isn't entertaining; even from Roger after seeing him beat Nadal! I enjoy the loss, but not the GAME employed!  :cuckoo:

Actually...no...I don't think it will help. I think Nole's over-thinking and trying to reinvent a round wheel that rolls just fine. Federer he ain't. He hasn't got every shot in the book and 50 options for every swing. He needs to stick to what's always worked but shorten the points.. That's really the only change he needs to make. Not every point needs to be a 40 shot defensive rally. Open up the court sooner and hit more winners and move to the next point. It ain't the rocket science he's trying to turn it into
