was looking at Wimbledon official site and found out somewhere via pdf dated may26th (?) del potro had a protected rank of 8.
that can't mean he is going to be seeded 8 can it ?.
The protected ranking gets him into the main draw, but is not used for seeding purposes, as I understand it. (The ATP rules state this explicitly, but I know they don't govern the Majors.) He doesn't have to go through qualifying and will be placed randomly with the other seeded players, once they get past the top 8, is it? Or 16?was looking at Wimbledon official site and found out somewhere via pdf dated may26th (?) del potro had a protected rank of 8.

Or, right...then there's that. But as I understand it, he won't be seeded #8. It only means he doesn't have to qualify, and is automatically seeded. As I understand "protected ranking," it gives the privileges of the old ranking, but doesn't award the old ranking. Does that make sense?I guess it could although it will also be subject to the grass court algorithm... shouldn't affect him all that much though. He'll still be seeded high.
I don't think he needs a WC. I'm pretty sure he's in. LOL.Wimbledon committee might give him a wildcard after all this lol. anyhow, soon we will be finding out.
you know what the mysterious seeding committee is like..they will find a way to confuse us all.I don't think he needs a WC. I'm pretty sure he's in. LOL.
True enough. Well, I do like a good mystery.you know what the mysterious seeding committee is like..they will find a way to confuse us all.
