Remember in her title runs, there's usually one tough match she has to come through to get the hardware.

Well at least she is playing someone who has never been in a slam semi let alone been to a slam final before tomorrow.

Great match from Simona. She just needs to put a little something extra on that 2nd serve and she could win a slam if she doesn't have to go through Serena.

Pliskova needs to serve and then from that moment Simona should take over. That will be a way to win against Serena.

On the other hand, Pliskova has never lost in a semifinal match unlike Serena. :snicker

She played well enough GSM, but on the big points, she played like crap and that's why she couldn't break after 12 BP's.

True she did not play the big points well. But, she did not become an UFE machine either. She had a positive differential even in the second set.

Interesting, Murray is of the opinion that when the roof closes that conditions are slower and help the returner. Although, that could be the loss talking.

Glad that Darren is decent enough (unlike JMac) not to call the matches in which Simona is playing.

Is it considered coaching from the stand when he tells her to challenge a call? He did it a couple of times

Yes, but I was talking about a different issue. I was talking about him not commentating on a match in which he has vested interests. JMac was actually commentating on a match in which Milos was playing and that was in poor taste. "calling" here means commentating.

Terrible scheduling. They put Serena's match at 7 p.m. instead of Kerbie's match even though Kerbie played yesterday and Serena today. The reason of course is to satisfy the TV request for a prime time match.

Maybe not an UE machine, but she was extremely tentative on the BP's which resulted in alot of errors on those points.

I actually think mentally that is better for Serena. She doesn't have to wait around to play her match and see who gets to the final first. She can come out and play clear minded.

If Kerber loses, it might make her happier that she has an easier shot at keeping #1. Play looser and more relaxed.
