Great composure from Marin Cilic after Djokovic saved those match points in the 12th game.

As for Djokovic, much better showing here in Paris than in Shanghai that's for sure. Also, he has a lot of time just to relax and regroup for the World Tour Finals.

Now for the bigger picture: Murray just needs to win 2 more matches and he will finally become world 1 for the first time of his career. Who would have thought that after Roland Garros?

I think those matches in Basel really boosted his confidence. You're right. He will be very dangerous.

It's amazing that Cilic has a great chance to win another Masters 1000 title this year!

If he wins his next match, Cilic will be the number 7 player in the world.

Andy Murray as world number 1. The thought of it makes me want to projectile vomit massive chunks of carrot. Looking forward to Roger's return to sort this parody out. BARF. :gross:

Cilic could have Stanimal potential. I wouldn't be surprised to see him play spoiler to the Novak-Andy-Stan triumvirate next year.

Another interesting angle to this early loss is that if Andy wins the tournament now he will be leading Novak by 405 points, obviously more than the 275 points from Davis Cup that drop on 28 Nov. So it will make Novak have to outperform Andy by 130 points at the WTF to get YE #1.

If Andy just gets to the final, he will still have to outpeform Novak by 270 (his Davis cup points from last year 275 - 5 point lead in this scenario) to keep #1 until the end of the year.

I don't see Muzz losing this tournament, it would be very silly if he does

What a major choke. Berd w/ 5 SP's in the breaker (6-1) and ends up on the losing end 11-9

Would Andy prefer to play Tsonga or Raonic on this surface?

probably Raonic. He can break the bomber's serve, whereas Jo has more variety and will have the French crowd behind him

As long as Cilic is playing clean I don't mind how he does.

Jo is starting off slowly again.. I would expect for him to rebound and defuse the missle

He very likely will turn this around. But unlike Nishi, you don't want to fall behind in the set w/ the missile. Jo doesn't return as well as Andy, so no guarantee he will break.

I am very proud of Milos to defeat Tsonga in front of a partisan crowd.
Job well done to solidify his ranking as number 4

The least he should do is deal with a "gramps" from the last gen.! Can he rise up and save Nole's ranking against Murray tomorrow? :dodgy: :p
