The only way Novak is going to lose to anyone at this point (aside from injury) is if someone is able to get under his skin. I just don't see anyone on tour capable of doing that right now.
I think Novak's biggest opponent this year will not be who is across the net, but all that is on the line - completing the promise to his coach who passed away and winning in Paris, completing the career GS, completing the Nole slam, the Calendar Slam, the Golden Calendar Slam etc - and he is, on current form, kind of expected to do all of this. I mean, it will be a surprise, and considered somewhat of a failure/missed opportunity, if he
doesn't. This is also the year that could define whether he breaks Roger's records and becomes known as the greatest player of all time. He needs to make hay while the sun shines. If he wins all 4 majors this year, he'll only be 3 behind Fed and have a really good shot at beating his slam tally, but if Novak underperforms and wins only, say, 2 slams this year, then I doubt he's going to be able to surpass Roger. There is
so much on the line for Novak this year. That's the issue more likely to 'get under his skin', as you put it, at some point this year than any opponent, IMO.
If he does achieve all he looks able to this year, my admiration for his ability to play under pressure will go through the roof. It's going to be fun to watch how he handles it all...
