She has no right to be sad, disappointed, or surprised. She has had a decade to do something to avoid this, but has done nothing fruitful. She deserves every one of these losses.

It's funny because the commenters talk about how Masha is a good mentally as Serena, but she is so poor in the matches against her biggest rival which doesn't smack of mental strength... Makes the Fed-Rafa rivalry look incredibly competitive...

I think people are too hard on Maria. I mean Serena is the better player period, so she will always come out on top even if Maria learned some new things. Also, at least Maria makes it to Serena unlike the other losers on the WTA who are far more inconsistent than Maria. I bet if they were as consistent as Maria in making it to Serena they would have as equally bad a record.

Agreed. Vika is the only (active) player who, before the match even begins, I think has a solid chance against Serena. Everyone else ... not so much.

But that's a matchup thing RB. Vika matches up better against Serena because of her return, mobility and willingness to come to net. Maria's game is the same as it ever was, blast away and hope that most of them find their mark
