Sorry I have a problem with Andy and other things on his mind.In any profession you have to leave your personal things behind. This is Andy's profession.Full Stop.It was his decision to play the AO,knowing his wife was pregnant.Kim was not due until February.I am a midwife by the way:) of course his father in law having heart problems was a huge concern. Why did Andy watch his brother Jamie live at RLA until 1.00am in the morning before he was due to play his final? even his brother Jamie said in his acceptance speech...'Bro you should be in bed' it is fine to have brotherly support though at what cost.Tennis in ways is a selfish sport especially at this level. In saying that Muzz has always had problems in his focus on court.Murray had a chance to win the 2nd set.I have seen Murray live at the AO in other finals, sad to say it is the same Movie Script over and over.Novak wasn't playing at his best level by the way,it was enough to defeat Murray in 3 sets.

I disagree. As a professional, you do your best to leave personal things behind. Jelena Gencic's death, Novak's grandfather passing affected him. Rafa's parents separating affected him. This is Andy's first child. Not only that his wife's father collapses and is rushed to the hospital. Your pregnant wife is on the other side of the globe and the stress is affecting her, and there's nothing you can do to comfort her, because you can't be there. A professional does his best to stay focused, Sometimes life happens, and there's nothing anyone (with a heart) can do to block it out.

I dont think I made myself very clear.Of course in life in any profession, just like ourselves personal things happen. My brother was killed in a head on accident,as I was about to go into surgery,by the way I still went into surgery and attended the doctor.
May main concern with Murray has always been his lack of focus, which I feel at times has cost him, what about the other times at the AO he has made the final? he didnt have family issues then did he? I also feel his focus was better when Lendl was his coach. We will just have to agree to disagree on this.

As to Murray's overall ability to focus (especially in the big matches), I would agree with you. And the point of Lendl helping him, also agree.

Good God, Margaret, that is horrible, and my condolences. As with EG, I agree with you about Murray's general focus issues, and how well he did with Lendl. Ivan was the "Murray-whisperer." That said about Andy's attitude or focus, in general, we can either take the "buck-up-man" approach, or forgive them their human frailties, when life intervenes on tennis. Neither is right or wrong. I actually don't think it was Andy's life issues that lost him that match. His intensity was very high after the first set. I just don't think anyone was beating Djokovic last Sunday.

Thanks. In hindsight going into surgery was the best outcome for me in that moment,I had to forget the horrid news I was given and concentrate on on my job.In my opinion regarding the final I thought Andy had his chances to take 1 set off Andy.Novak wasnt playing the type of tennis we saw in the s/final against Federer, especially in those first 2 sets where he was 'unplayable'.

I agree that Andy had a chance to take the 2nd set, and that might have changed the outcome of the 3rd. I still don't think it would have changed the outcome of the match.

I agree.I thought Andy had to keep up his first serve percentage, his 2nd serve has always been his achilles heel, also his fhand was found wanting at times.

Andy loses matches to me,for example on BP he cant seem to keep his intensity up,which is soo important I think we all saw that in the final, focus, concentration to meis his let him down.As I earlier stated I have been live at the AO watching Andy before and witnessed him talking to his box, again a lack of concentration.

In the best of circumstances Andy has his work cut out for him against Nole at AO. Most tennis players have. He lost only 1 match in the last 6 AOs.

I know that i is in Scottish culture not to show emotions ever, however I must say that is what I like the best about him that he shows his emotions, he is open and sincere.

I think he figured what his chances are in the final, before he decided to watch his brother's final the night before and looking how No1e closed sets 2 and 3, he judged right.

Funny that none of you chose No1e in 3.

We followed your lead @Mastoor. You didn't vote for Nole in 3 either.
