I wouldn't call it an easy win. After the first, which I didn't see, Andy fought hard, and brought a lot of intensity. (To those who did the live chat, I said I was going to bed, but then watched the rest from my sofa. And thanks for hosting it, @britbox. It was fun.) Thing was, Andy was red-lining, and Novak seemed to be perfectly within himself almost all of the time. As close as Murray got to a chance at the 2nd and 3rd, it was straight sets. That's about where Djokovic is at this point in time. I came to this thread to praise Andy's effort. As Billie kindly said, he had a lot on his mind. But also I must praise Nole, who is at the top of the heap by a long stretch.Congrats Novak! I see the results and it seems it was a easy win (I haven't seen the match) you are doing well but I can't say the same about the others o_O

I'd be surprised if anyone thinks that Andy is not the most unfortunate player to be born into this era. He is very talented, has an excellent tennis IQ, works very hard on his fitness and his game, and yet has always had Federer, Nadal and Djokovic in front of him. That's some bad luck for a guy with that much talent. I think he's also turned around a lot of fans, as he's displayed a lot of heart, along with the scratchiness. I hope so. He deserves it.Thanks for that information, I'm glad that Muzz tried hard
I think a healthy baby and a healthy father-in-law in the next couple of weeks will take the sting right out. Then he can get back to the job. All best thoughts for the Murray/Sears clans at time. (A bit sentimental, but let's face it...they're human beings and we follow them.)Nicely said Moxie. The way how Andy choked at the end while mentioning Kim in that presentation of the trophies, it was obvious that he has not been at ease this whole tournament. He did really put up a fight nicely in 2nd and 3rd sets, I think that this time it was just mentally too tough for him. I can understand how you wish to be somewhere else while doing your job and being professional in another. Hopefully everything goes well with the birth and Andy finds himself the happiest man in the world.
I do know that about you, you old sap. And I mean that in the best way.I am not ashamed of being sentimental.
Yes, best wishes for Nigel Sears as well.
