Easy - Breezy. Nole will be well rested for Sunday's battle.

I can imagine this going on for Rafa in the past; nice semi with one of his teammates from Spain donating their time for a workout before the final! :p :puzzled :nono

Novak covers for Marin and explains about the ankle injury. Good on him.

He always says the right thing! "Nole for President!" lol! - :clap z:  :dodgy: :ras:
Nole is all class....he fielded those bait questions better than any presidential candidate :)

Boris could learn a few things from Djokovic. :cover

Cilic's movement was incredible last year.

Cahill says he always moves well at the back of the court. This match he has not. That is why his ankle has to be less than well.
But on another hand, Novak played very well,. even a 100% Cilic would have not been a an opponent with much chance today.

I was so wrong in voting for Cilic to win this.

Yikes.

Djokovic should be fresh for the final. Played late Tuesday night, then a short match Friday night that is roughly half the length of his match against Feliciano.

I did not see this coming.

Djoker is sharp, with this game no one can beat him.

I never understood why Hingis quit singles altogether, she can't be that bad right?
She played two singles matches in Fed Cup against Poland in February. For an hour it went OK, then her level dropped massively. In the second match she started cramping badly in the second set and had to sit out the decisive doubles afterwards. So after that I definitely don't see her having ambitions to play singles anymore.

So it looks like Cilic will win 3 games in the match! Poor Carol.

Don't feel sorry for me, you should be sorry for those idiots who were playing so bad including Nadal :cover

Frankly as bad as Cilic was playing - Novak could played with one leg in a cast and still won. Just plain pathetic. He's easily the lamest US Open men's champion in in the gazillion years I've been watching tennis.

Twisted his ankle in the 4th round and then playing a 5 set quarter final didn't help. There were rumours he wasn't going to play today so guess it must be bad enough. He wasn't going to win anyway but it definitely affected the scoreline. Novak was very good but way too many errors from Cilic and awful serving. Nothing like he was last year. Last year his movement was amazing for a guy his height and he served like a total beast.

I'll never feel sorry for Nadal and if I ever do it's not anything to do with his tennis. :p

So after that I definitely don't see her having ambitions to play singles anymore.

In fact, she announced explicitly that she will never ever play competitive singles again.

Even at that time, she was not trying to make a comeback in singles, just trying to help Switzerland out in time of need.

Of course when it was pointed out that Fognini had 60 unforced errors in a 2 set match in Hamburg you didn't make anywhere near as much fuss about it but hey, who's counting.

Nole trashed Cilic, let's see what happens tomorrow but he's a huge favourite to win USO

Not really in agreement over the result last night. While Novak played well, Cilic trashed himself and hence the outcome.

I have to admit that both Cilic and Stanimal missed the train, those matches were disappointing I'ld have expected a better level but for me, Nole'll win USO tomorrow, of course I can be wrong but I don't think he'l miss this opportunity. Can't wait to see this final anyway
