For sure, Novak's the favourite and looking forward to it too but Novak's record in finals here is poor so we'll see what happens. If Roger serves very well he can win.

I know it's a Nole's "'speciality" to lose in NY but maybe this time will he do like in 2011 ?

Either way it's the final with the 2 guys I'd most like to win it so it's all good.

Of the four finals he lost, two he cannot be blamed for. The first one he was like 20 and had to play within 24 hours of the semi against fed in his prime. The same stupid scheduling cost him the second. I was not too happy with the match against Murray and the last one Nadal was a beast, beaten fair and square.

I never understood why Hingis quit singles altogether, she can't be that bad right?
She played two singles matches in Fed Cup against Poland in February. For an hour it went OK, then her level dropped massively. In the second match she started cramping badly in the second set and had to sit out the decisive doubles afterwards. So after that I definitely don't see her having ambitions to play singles anymore.

In fact, she announced explicitly that she will never ever play competitive singles again.

Even at that time, she was not trying to make a comeback in singles, just trying to help Switzerland out in time of need.
Yes and I think Hingis was perfectly aware that she is not able to keep up a reasonably high level in singles for more than an hour anymore. Fed Cup was probably a perfect opportunity to test her ability in singles as the other available Swiss players in that tie would have been hopeless against the Radwanska sisters and playing herself probably really was the best option.

Maybe her perspective would have changed if she had been able to beat Agnieszka Radwanska or at least physically hold up in a close match but these matches showed that her assessment of herself before was right and a trying another comeback in singles wouldn't make any sense.
