is it a surprise that Chris Evett is celebrating...those in the know she doesnt like Serena. She pretends because she once lost a job because of hating on the sisters, she has to be pc.She insinuated that Serena was on drugs after that incident at Wimby...
ESPN box truly hates the sisters and for us who have been following the sisters for years know that.

OK, now their saying this wasn't exactly her last match. She implied but didn't mean that apparently. Hopefully she'll hang around until the WTA Championships.

That makes sense. Guess she hasn't played the WTA championships before? First time being ranked in the top 8 as far as I know so she should make use of it and play there. A good way to round off her last year on tour. Try and retire ranked even higher and try for another title before she quits.

big stage,

big shock final,

big deal esp in Italy (not 'big deal' the bbctv series from 1984)

big title,

big win,

big trophy,

big paycheque.

oldest 1st time winner of major at 33yrs..(open era or since 1880s ?),

the fog was maybe watching on a black&white telly in deepest Siberia. (away dc tie).

Fognini was in the stands. Kissing and hugging after the match. With Pennetta that is.

Pam, Mary, and Chris may have issues with Williams' for different reasons, but "deflection" is going on here! Serena wasn't very gracious, was curt in the "presser," and shot out of the facility with little more than sneering! It was disappointing to lose I'm sure, but overlooking how well Vinci played is "terrible!" Like Chris, I was enamored by Vinci's attack I've been looking for quite a while! Stosur did a little of that a few years ago, but it's been a long time coming for us OLD FOGIES such athletic aggressive play at the net! It took us all back; that BH slice and volley put-aways! ;-)

Congratulations to Flavia on her first grand slam and commiserations to Vinci, who knocked out my favorite, lol.

The stadium was about 90%filled although many were still talking about the Serena match. There were many Italians at the match and they were very proud of both ladies. A few that I spoke to said that this was their first time at USO and they come to support Vinci and Flavia. At the gate, some tried to bring in Italian flags, but they were stopped and told they could not bring them in.
The atmosphere was very relaxed, none of that tension Serena brings to matches, lol. I'm taking a break from tennis. I did not realise how tight Serena had me wound up.

Fognini is a douche and has said some racial stuff to other players...has serious anger problems.Carlos Moya to me was the love Flavia s life..,after the breakup she was heartbroken and lost a lot of weight.
