Novak wins his serve at love. Isner finally wins his serve on the 14th point. Wonder if he feels a little tired...

Isner is back to another deuce on his serve. I wonder what it feels like to be such a big server, and knowing that none of your serves are a given. Novak is putting the returns right on his shoelaces and poor John is too slow to get out of the way to hit his shot.

... and double faults back to the third deuce.

Seems Isner is trying to play a game he doesn't possess. He'd do better to focus on his strength.

John's going for too much. Having your 135 mph serves coming back at you must be a bit daunting.

It's just my idea or this match is going to be loooong unless one of the players would start to play bad and doing many erros

He knows he's playing a great returner, and it has him spooked. He hasn't got a prayer, the way he's playing now, and the way Nole is serving.

Had his first easy hold there... now let's see if he can pressure Novak the way he did Nishi.

Putting in that short slice shot drew the error from Novak.

Big John is in this thing. Though I am a Novak fan, he has more than enough of these titles and I like Big John. I hope the winner of this match wins the title.

I might concede this point once he passes the two guys in front of him. :)

I like Big John, too, and he doesn't have too many fans on this board. I'll be pulling for Murray in the final, though.

Still...:hug

Maybe because of altruism or dislike of fighting losing battles, I try not to play that game ;)

Isner maximizes the game he has. I get annoyed when people blame him for using the tools he has. Is it exciting? Well no... The only disappointing thing about him is how he performs outside the U.S.

I was never among those that bashed on big servers because they lack a certain skill, but no one can deny that Big John has guts. This was a huge hold.

Two funny things about Isner: he can do well on clay, and doesn't have particular grass success, off the top of my head. Am I wrong? (Too lazy to look it up.)
