Querrey and Sock into the semis! Querrey will need to defeat Verdasco and Sock will have to beat Anderson if they are going to meet in the final.

Make it so!

I hope Verdasco beats Querrey, but we agree about Sock.

Also, the Sock/Anderson match is beginning right now. It's on the Tennis Channel for those in the US.

Sock looks like he is gonna take it. Up a set and a break.

He won! His first ATP final. Congrats. :clap

Way to go Sock! With that win he moves up to No. 41 on the live rankings. If he can win tomorrow, he'll be around No. 35! :clap

Come on Querrey!

This has the potential to be career-changing for Sock. If he can get his ranking up to No. 35 this weekend, then add some wins in Europe over the next month, he could be seeded at RG.

He's only defending 32 points before Paris, from a second round loss in Nice, but he's defending nothing in Rome. There's his chance.

EDIT: I can't remember when the cutoff is to determine seeds for RG. If it's before Rome, then Sock won't be able to achieve this.

After a LONG rain delay, Jack Sock takes the first set in a tiebreak, after saving 3 set points.

Great example of Brett Haber's dry sense of humor: "I don't know if he was serve and volleying, or if he tripped." :lolz:

Ruh-oh... Sock cracks first in the second set. Needs to break back now.

And he does! 4-4 in the second.

Sam saves one championship point, and holds serve for a second set tiebreak.

Congrats Sock! I hope he builds on this! He has a decent game. He needs to work on his fitness a bit more and he can improve even more.
