I'm not sure I'm in favour towards the trend of indoor slams. I know they thought they needed a roof at Wimbo, but I been watching it decades and it only ended a day late once in 2001, and that gave us a final to remember. I think unless they can cover all courts, it's unfair. I dunno. I'm agin it, and always have been. Except maybe in Oz where the high temps can incinerate a fat lady in the crowd and turn her into a weeping stream of boiling blubber...

Well back in the old days, the finalist were permitted to wear spikes on grass; even at Wimbledon! Same situation; change of rules just for the final! You need the certainty of a final like a Super Bowl where you can't just cancel or move to the next day; people have lives and situations to attend to! This really hurt I think; seen momentum change just because of a rain break like this! It saved Arantxa SV one year she was being blown off the court by Mary Pierce! That match was going about as fast as the semi where Graf was blasted 2 and 2 by Mary! You need a roof over center court at least; saves at least one good match if it rains early on in the tourney! :dodgy:

UPDATE: Check the data; Monday Wimbo's a lot more common! I definitely remember taping '88 a day late due to rain!

That's right, actually, I think the Edberg-Becker final started one day, and they came back the next. I see the reasoning behind catering for the fans, I really do, but unless you put a roof on all courts, you're only catering to the fans who got tickets for centre court, some of them in the posh corporate seats where they sit there munching prawn sandwiches and wondering if Boris Becker is still playing...

Did i get well, there is no hawk eye on RG ? But they show that one which robbed Djoker for a point.

OK, no matter what, i dont belive Wawec should be happy about anything, if he saw level of game.

Murray upped his game significantly, Nole got tight... 3-3 in the fourth when the rains came. :s

It's what always seems to happen to Nole; on a roll and in complete control! He might pull back just a little and his opponent just started playing better and hanging in those long rallied points! Nole also stepped backwards toward the end on 2nd serve returns allowing Andy time and air! As well as Murray played, it still was on Nole who had another "walkabout;" committed a couple errors out of nowhere for no reason! Weird! :cover :eyepop :puzzled :nono

Fiero you turncoat you! I'm shocked. Why not just wait until after the final on Sunday to decide who you want to support :snicker

Morning to everyone on the wrong side of the planet. Thanks for all the commentary. It's hilarious reading through it. My son woke up and called for me so I went to lay him back down right before the Murray match started and guess what? I don't remember anything after that. Just got up and checked the score. Disappointed that Muzza dropped the first two, excited to see that he came back in the third, and disappointed to see that they had to stop play. This will be in Djoko's favor no doubt. The biggest winner of the day is Stan. Wins in four and now gets to lie around while Novak tries to finish off Andy today.

^It's certainly good for Stan. He doesn't have to contemplate fighting the Nole-monster for 48 hours!

Why does it have anything to do with support? I want Nole to win, but what good does it do LIE about what happened? This occurs a lot; OTTH we have at the top of the list AO in 2012 vs Nadal, and of course serving for it at '11 USO and '14 Wimbledon! It's not really a choke as much as I think he pulls back just a little; giving the ball more air with top spin and maybe spinning in his serve! :nono

^Lol! I'm teasing you mate. Novak has his ways. You're right sometimes he waits for his opponent to lose. All tennis players do this at certain points. Even a stone cold killa like Roger has done that. Remember in the US Open against Novak. I think it's nerves. Fair play to Rafa, when he has the chance he does try to stamp his foot on the opponents neck

Quite a turnaround in the match. I was already like "Finish this, Nole!" in 3rd, I was getting bored with the match but the 4th, I mean those games they got to play, topped the first three sets in excitement.

Murray will come back and win this match in 5 sets. You heard it here first folks.

And how I'm usually completely and utterly wrong has nothing to do whatsoever with this match. Muzza!

If it happens, I won't cry any tears! This was all on Nole who should have wrapped this up today in straights! In my day, when you get an opponent down, you go in for the kill, not lay back and hope they donate the match! I chipped and charged my way to many a win over better players just because of my aggression and covering of the net with volleys and overheads; not too much on tour these days with these guys! It's as if they're afraid to volley; esp. players like Berdych, Ferrer, and even Nole! When things are tight, they will butcher the easiest of volleys that's for sure! :nono  :dodgy:

^^ Actually, I know it was windy today, but some of the volleying on both sides was horrendous. Murray more so, it's as if his brain was flicking through a coaching manual trying to find the chapter called Volley, after he'd constructed an approach to the net in a clumsy ad hoc fashion. It wasn't just the wind because we've commonly seen this terror before...

Welcome!

I think that's the most likely end to this one...

We can only hope! The only thing is, who will be included in that moniker of "Big 3?" Nole and Murray are assured a slot for now; who ya got between Rafa who's dropped to #10 and Roger artificially being held up as world's #2? :p :nono  :dodgy:
