Actually, if they had half an hour more available, I think it would have helped Andy. Novak would have been in a hurry to win the match today itself and would have made some poor choices in shot selection as a result of that leading to him losing the 4th set.

Crappy scheduling from the French as usual. Past time they get lights there no?

This definitely favors Novak because Murray really seemed the fresher of the two and had the momentum. I was really impressed with Murray the last 1.5 sets. He kind of out-Djokoviced Nole by becoming a total wall. Murray was hitting through Nole easier than Nole was hitting through Murray which was a complete reversal of the first 2 sets. Nole's level dropped a bit from the first 2 sets but not that much and Murray's defense had a lot to do with that. I'd expect Nole gets the job done in the 4th tomorrow.

Well, guess it's karma really since Novak made him wait so long while he took a massive dump.

Roland Garros again displays it's propensity for being a minor league event. No Hawkeye, no lights, and no roof. Equals Murray gets shafted. It's about time the ITF, ATP, and WTA insist the French move into the 21st century or they become a 1000 point event. Their stubborn attitude of nonsensical behavior must stop.

How about the 1PM start time for two men's semifinals... :nono

I think they have an upgrade in the works, but don't know the details. And I agree with you, nehmeth, I don't know how they thought these matches would finish, with a 1pm start. They knew there was a good chance that Djokovic-Murray could go really long.

They plan to have a retractable roof over centre court by next year.

I think the break gives Djokovic an advantage but at the same time I could see Murray winning the 4th set. I watch enough sports in which crazier things have happened. I still do think Djokovic will win the whole match but I could see this match going in 5 sets.

Like I always said, the thing with Murray other than his forehand and very weak second serve is that he lacks aggressiveness or his mental strength.

When Murray won those last three games in the third set, he took it Djokovic. He was aggressive and didn't allow Djokovic to dictate points. That's the Murray I want to see against the Top 3 players. Yes, he might not be as talented as the top 3 players, but he is good enough player to beat them on any single day. He just need to bring the aggressiveness throughout the match not just when he is down a set or during the start of the match.

Novak did not take a bathroom break. He apparently took a MTO for some ailment (I don't know what it is) for which they cannot give treatment on court side.

Muzz is as talented as the top 3 players and has a very smart game but he should control his emotions, some players need to get mad to win, he doesn't

Ah ok. Was running in and out of the kitchen grabbing food. Saw some chat comments about a MTO but wasn't sure if people were wondering or if that was actually the case. He had some problem with his hip earlier this week but mostly I think he had a problem with losing that 3rd set :D Maybe someone massaged his brain.

Not that I'm a fan, but I keep asking myself why doesn't Murray do this all the time? He has the ability, but falls into a defensive-counterpuncher which only extends matches, not necessarily win them! Nole fell asleep and allowed Andy to get aggressive instead of closing it out; but it's not like this hasn't happened several times before! We need to come up with a new description for Nole and his "walkabouts" at the end of a match! It's not like he did anything wrong, his opponent just played better, but it shouldn't have happened! Murray was "dead man walking" and the whole stadium knew it! :blowup What is it; sympathy on Nole's part? So weird to see over and over again! :cover :puzzled :nono

Yea the start time was kind of foolish. Add in the Nadal chair decision and the entire tournament has been worse than usual.

It's kinda nicely poised now, isn't it? And good for Andy to hold serve at the end, because he struggled on all three service games in that set. But Nole will regroup. He was marvelous in the first two sets, I expected another 6-3 in the third, but he tightened up and Andy hit some huge ones to get a set which he really deserved. Gonna be an interesting tennis day tomorrow...

TTC said the other day, they voted down the renovation and expansion of RG, but the ITF was trying to see if they could get the Olympic committee involved in order to save the reno project to be ready for a future Olympics.

I saw those 2 searches and noticed a date of 2019 but decided to click on the earliest date first. Guess we have to wait a bit longer so :p Pity, indoor clay would be interesting. Isner or Karlovic might win the whole thing :laydownlaughing
