McToothy has to win against someone he's never beaten on clay. Chances are he probably won't make it past the quarters.

Yeah, well, I'm rooting for McMuzza but I sure ain't betting any money on it.

I may be a fool, but a stupid fool I am not.

After that dream draw of Roger's, the least that should happen Karma-wise is Murray knocked out! Why should Nole have to go through the defending champion in the QF, the legitimate #2 in the semi, and a barn-burner of a final either way with Wawrinka or Tsonga? :p :nono  :dodgy:

He won't have to worry about it. :p

I'm not really sure it matters! Nole's been so on top of the ball, actually crushing it by the 3rd set; hence the bagels being served all over the place even at the AO months ago! :popcorn :clap :dodgy:

Ugh! ITV in the UK are showing the Murray match (why am I surprised). I'll have to watch the big match on my iPad :(

just found out they're showing the Rafa match on ITV online. Not sure if that helps non-UK residents..

Watching Sock-Rafa. This is really low quality stuff...

The third set was pretty high quality stuff when Sock finally asserted himself better. He even played well the start of set 4 too I thought but his serving all match was poor and cost him a lot of lost games. Pretty impressive for a first ever match against Nadal at Roland Garros though.

Yes, sock picked it up a bit, but I saw him play better in other matches.

No doubt but look who he was playing :p

Sure. My original post was more a comment on rafa and the general quality of the match. I get why sock played like a nervous nelly, but rafa was not impressive...

When will he lighten up on the doubles? That could start affecting his singles' results if he isn't careful! As a kid, you think you have unlimited energy, but mentally being out there so many hours has to take its toll! It's one of the reasons I give Navratilova so much more credit for her accomplishments explaining to myself that if she hadn't played so much doubles events, she might have won more singles' majors! I was onsite many a time with matches going deep into the night trying to get a tourney finished; esp. the early Virginia Slims tour back in the 70's! BJK was one of those dynamos that did it all and helped with the promoting of women's tennis! She lost out on a lot due her hectic schedule as well! She might still be doing an interview at 2 am! It was part of the job promoting the game back then! :dodgy:

It's scheduled after the Serena/Eranni match which is currently in progress (1st set)

He'll have to elevate his game several notches to even stay with Novak. I'm intrigued to see if the matches he's played have given him the confidence to get there

Well, Sock's not even gonna be 23 next Roland Garros whereas Nadal will be 30 by week 2 so there's plenty of time for Sock to improve. I'm sure he took looks of positives from that match knowing that if he even served better he'd have done a lot better. Still wouldn't have won but for a first time match on the big stage against Nadal I think he fared pretty well save for set 2 which was a disaster. He may have only won one more game in set 4 than set 2 but his level of play was much better. His serving was awful the first two sets.

Serena is halfway home to a victory. So you shouldn't have to wait much longer.

Good morning (or evening or night or whatever it is in your place) dudes and dudettes.
Hope everybody is ready for the big game. As this one is on TV I will be glued to it and hence I will not be posting too often during the match. It is lot easier to do when I watch it on computer.

I am hoping for a good clean match, worthy of the hype.

May the better player win and May there be no controversies.

Hope so, because it's 11pm here.
