Believe me, I'm with you. Just trying to retain a modicum of sang-froid until it all comes about.

I know you are with me. There's just a few of us here...I know them well even if I am not a regular part of our crew :)

You're welcome aboard, rahulpawar, to what some like to think of as a sinking ship. We'll show them, eh?

Show them we will with all our might :D though our captain Nadal needs to really lead us from the front

As a Murraynian, I guess I should root for Nadal to take out Djokovic...

But...

Murray has a better chance of knocking off a Djokovic feeling the pressure than he would the balding bich who would be suddenly extremely confident if he wins tomorrow.

Maybe. I'm still chewing on that Australian bagel though. :gross:

I would have put it differently, but....

It's all been bad if you ask me; quite aware you didn't ask! :p I've been pretty appalled how overall this FO has been hyped with pedestrian results; top players not even dropping a set! Only #4 Berdych didn't make the QF; to me that s/b impossible but for the uninspired play of the "also-rans!" I've slept through most of it and the replays don't make it any better! This Nadal/Djpokvic match will have to save the tourney IMO! :eyepop :cover :nono :dodgy:

Tsonga-Wawrinka is going to be even more interesting and more watching the crazed crowd

Both were better quality than they are getting slagged off as. I totally sneered at Gasquet as too light-weight for Nole, but he did make some good effort. He's not a joke. And Sock has seriously improved. There was real quality in that match. I disagree that it was low-quality.

I didn't watch Nadal-Sock match but what I've read and was told plus what Rafa said after the match, Sock played very good, he fought until the end. If he would be injuries free he will have a great future and probably better than the other young ones

its the big 2 9 for rafa/wafa.

If he's not going to spend it fishing in Mallorca, may as well win a tennis match. ¡Vamos! :popcorn

Wow, this thread has gotten to six pages without the match even starting.

Anyhow, I just checked the H2H and was reminded that Novak has won five of their last six meetings, but lost the only Slam within that span - last year's Roland Garros. Actually, Rafa has won their last four Slam meetings, with Novak winning the three before that and Rafa the first five before that.

Some more matchup stuff:

Overall: 23-20, Rafa
Slams: 9-3, Rafa
Clay: 14-5, Rafa
pre-Novak prime (2006-10): 16-7, Rafa
post-Novak prime (2011-15): 13-7, Novak (4-3, Rafa, at Slams; 5-4, Rafa, on clay)

It is interesting to note just how dominant Novak has been since 2011: 13-7 overall. But again, Rafa still has quite an edge at Slams.

This really could be the match of the year, especially for us who don't have a horse in the race!

The match to decide who will lose to Muzza in the semifinal!

:snicker

McToothy has to win against someone he's never beaten on clay. Chances are he probably won't make it past the quarters.

He does that frequently between points no matter where he's playing.

After that dream draw of Roger's, the least that should happen Karma-wise is Murray knocked out! Why should Nole have to go through the defending champion in the QF, the legitimate #2 in the semi, and a barn-burner of a final either way with Wawrinka or Tsonga? :p :nono  :dodgy:
