I have to say that as a tennis fan, this is my favorite matchup to watch. Of course I love watching the Fedster, but I'm always stressed out. This is just tennis played at the highest, most intense level to be enjoyed.

It's a compelling match up. And I have to say the 2011 US Open final is still probably the match I repeat watch more than any other. Never seen such incredible ball striking and retrieving, particularly the 1st 2 sets

Yeah I never understood the people who didn't like their matches. The bring out the best in each other.

Agreed. Although the long AO final was taking attrition tennis too far imho. Generally though the tension I feel watching their matches is extreme

Rafa's movement has definitely improved. He is not shanking balls like he did against Andy
in Madird (I think the shanks are caused by changing racquets back and forth). He is not leaving
many short balls. These are the positives that I see him.

On the negative side, his serve is still not very good and it will look even worse against the best returner of the game. Also, Rafa still does not have confidence that he can beat Novak at this juncture.

p.s. I have already voted for Novak in 4.

Disagree - I think Rafa's left too much short stuff out there. That's one of his major problems.. the other elephant in the room being on second serve.

He wanted the court watered, it did not happen. He is worried he will hurt himself with the footing issues.

That's one of the big differences between the two, in my opinion - along with, of course, the second serve and just an all around slightly better game. But in terms of individual components, I think Murray's inability to play well when he's upset is the big gap between the two.
