Argh. My bagel just turned into a breadstick. Come on Murray.

That's mah boy!

Only got back in time for the end of set 3. Ferrer is starting to decline in my opinion, just a bit, but the little beast doesn't know when he's beaten and he's still a very good clay courter. Another commendable win for Andy to beat him in 4 and it looks like it should really have been straights.

Onto the big one on Friday. Murray has a real chance in my opinion, I think he's in the state of mind to play his best tennis against Djokovic who has all the pressure to deal with now. He is still a clear underdog though. I can only cross my fingers.

I like Andy on clay this year. he's actually enjoying himself, and he's posting big wins too. I think he has a chance in the semi too, though he's got to stick to it, and not go AWOL like he did in Oz...

Congrats TF7 (and all Andy fans).

I agree with you that Ferrer has lost something. I disagree that all the pressure is on Novak. Today a huge weight has been lifted off his back, and that last set he was simply flying. Murray is playing incredibly well and has a great chance, but I am pretty sure he will be feeling the pressure too.

He can hope for a flat Novak like the one he faced in the Wimbo final, but Rafa never came close to pressing him the way DP did that year. Looking forward to a competitive match.

Come on buddy, the Wimbo semi with DP wasn't that ruinous that Nole played so weakly in the final. This is a bloke who played Murray in a longer match in the Oz semi in 2012, then returned two days later and played an even longer final with Rafa.

Andy was better on the day, and Nole was brittle between the ears. Physically, he wasn't so spent he couldn't muster up any sort of decent resistance...

Well remembered. That can't be denied, even though the SF does get overshadowed by the final.

I see this is the day for ridiculous revisionist history based on completely unrelated events. It's like the spirit of Cali took over everyone's accounts.

Totally agree Kieran. I was not intimating anything physical. The only way Novak was getting by DP was if he gave his whole heart and soul... which he did. Had nothing left over upstairs. Good on Murray. Novak will be more settled for this meeting.

Very happy for murray. Was busy switching between two matches at first but after djokovic broke to get 2 set up, i mostly watched murray-ferrer match as it seems a bit more exciting at least.

I hope Andy can get a good rest and play a great game against Novak. I will be happy whether he wins or loses in the next match.

I still don't understand it. He had plenty left between the ears, but he was brittle. Like I say, he played longer in the Oz semi, and even longer again two days later against Rafa in the final. He won that match. After about 62 hours! :laydownlaughing

Buddy, he chickened out of the final with Murray, is that what you want to say? It wasn't mental fatigue, it was mental cowardice, or whatever, in the face of a historic occasion. But whatever it was, he bottled it...

Crikey. Is that gonna be your reply to every post from now on? "And Rafa got thumped by..."

Rafa didn't get thumped by that guy I described. I described Novak in the Wimbledon final in 2013. According to you, that guy was mentally spent after his semi final and had "nothing left over upstairs..." :cover

Hell yes.

That's better than the one I tried to reply to about 3 minutes ago. ;)

Everybody loses sometime, Rafa has nine of these things, we have no complaints...
