Lucie will try to run Serena corner to wear her out...and in he process will make errors.USA OPEN11 I remember Serena playing very late and had gone to bed at around 3am and had to play the same day at 8pm.She lost because she was exhausted and Stosur was the fresher of the two ...It was the scheduling that did her in.
tomorrow will be like AO2007 final...

Even Chris Fowler claims that Serena was not all that ill, but he kept repeating how ill maria was. SMH.

Why do you care what someone else has to say? You saw w/ your own eyes that she was sick. That's all you need to know. Who cares what someone else says about a player who isn't even in the tournament anymore?
Because it's the media and the media is very, very dangerous. Like I said you should read the other message boards and the hate that Serena is getting people claiming she was acting etc.. this is some of the news the rumor is spreading and even though people see it with their own eyes she was ailing they still believe the media.

And you should know by now you can't stop what other people read and believe. Just be happy that your fave gets to play for a slam title

Serena might sneak in a workout at Patrick s academy...why not.I know Lucie is breaming with confidence but I am putting my money on Serena..thats my gut talking. This is a chance of a lifetime and she will not let this slip away...

That has nothing to do with it if she's sick and has no strength and can't perform she will most certainly lose.

I'm going w/ Serena in straights. She will be laser focused so as not to expend any extra energy on court. I could see Lucie maybe getting a break up, but Serena will level the set and eventually take it.

I think Lucie will have too many nerves. She had them against Ana, and Serena is no Ana. You can't have them against Serena. She will make you pay dearly, sick or not.

That is one way to think. The other way to think is that she already had nerves and dealt with it against Ana and so will not have nerves tomorrow.

^^^I would be inclined to believe that if she won the doubles titles already and was going into singles. It will be tough. Serena will at least make it a fight given the stage.

Well, I am afraid that we may get a poor final match, with illness on one side and nervousness on another side. Hope, it does not happen. Hope Serena is fit enough for the match and Lucie is not nervous on the big occasion.

We're used to lousy nervous women's matches, but I think Serena will be too strong and blow her away, flu and all...

It would be more interesting if they excluded her. I'd wonder why...

I do exclude her, because of the pre-open era stuff. I consider Steffi the record holder.
