Good lord. How many Thanksgiving platters is that now for Novak?

I hope he gets this sort of reaction wherever he goes now. He deserves it. I'll have to watch this match again. I'm not sure I believe what I saw

The crowd loves you now Novak. Remember that. That might be the best trophy!

Crowd did the same last year but he was able to control it. Losing to Nadal again was ok but this is really bad for him. He laid an egg in the final by not showing up and looking lacklustre throughout

I'm intrigued to see how long it takes him to recover from this. I can't think of a worse loss in his career

Are we really putting this purely down to Stan playing amazing? He did play extremely well, but Djokovic could have played much better as well. I'm not saying he choked or that Stan only won because Djokovic was off his best - god knows I've raged enough at people saying that about Murray's slam wins over Nole, but it isn't ONLY a case of Stan being too good today. Nole was tentative.

Yes, Nole was tentative. Until the mid of 2nd set, I thought it would have been one-way traffic, very likely 3 straight sets. Very shocked at the following plays. Stan dictated most of them.

Probably Stan is too good today for Novak or Novak is still not good enough to jump into Fedal league now. However I still have high hope that he will have 10+ slams, ending within top 5 in OPEN era.

Novak is 8-8 in slam finals now. It's a record with huge achievements and sodden disappointments. Stan was an animal today but Nole will have to click on this as a great opportunity not taken...

Djokovic would have beaten most today... Rare you see someone redlining like Stan did for more than a set or so. murat1972 made a comment... "Too good". I agree. Novak just shrugs his shoulders and moves onto Wimbledon.

Doesn't matter - better losing 8 finals than not making them in the first place.

Novak may indeed be turning into the Lendl of the modern age. That's not a bad place to be. That man is an all time great.

We may have to accept that this is Stan's new level. He needs to prove it of course. But he did it in the QF and here now. It was monster play

Pro tip: Gloat after your guy wins a title, not a QF.

Hey, you beat Nadal at RG at any round you have a right to gloat a bit, no? ;)

Absolutely. I said as much when it happened.

Now I exercise my own right to gloat. My favorite player didn't win, but my least favorite lost. If Fed fans did it on Wednesday despite a similar scenario, I'll do it today.

Stan really is the Man! Those saying he was an asterisked one-time GS champ should finally acknowledge he's a legit two-time GS champ now. Tough service games under pressure in 4th but what really matters is his mental composure to save those BPs under pressure.

Just amazing lights-out tennis from him. And to do that on clay, without turning into a UE machine, WOW!

Yeah, sad for Nole, one of the most successful and consistent clay-courters in recent years and still to win the FO. I really hope he'll win it. He should almost pray to face Nadal in next year's final, he'd be an opponent Nole now knows he can beat at RG.
