Outstanding match... Other than a pretty mediocre first serve percentage, Novak didn't do too much wrong. One of those days... Stan redlined for three of the four sets and played outstanding tennis - unplayable at times.

Congratulation to Stan. All credit to him. Fully deserved. Novak didn't choke and Stan earned it.
Is is a windy day in Paris? Novak had all the momentum until the mid of 2nd set. Then he backed way off the baseline and hit the ball shot. Once Stan dictated the game, he iron-fist it. If Novak wanted to win the trophy by waiting for Stan's error, he paid the price.

Are we really putting this purely down to Stan playing amazing? He did play extremely well, but Djokovic could have played much better as well. I'm not saying he choked or that Stan only won because Djokovic was off his best - god knows I've raged enough at people saying that about Murray's slam wins over Nole, but it isn't ONLY a case of Stan being too good today. Nole was tentative.

^ I thought Novak seemed to lack his usual energy at times. It would have been tough to beat Stan today for sure but I think this being a final did not help him.

Great stuff from Stan! I feel really bad for Djokovic but he did not do too much wrong. If you see the score without watching the match you'd think he may have choked. Odds are now stacked against Nole winning the French, due to age and poor memories from all the losses here.
