Maria has lost at Wimbledon to De Brito,Kerber,Dulko,Lisicki and others and yet the media tries to portray her as favorite..she got lucky in 2004 ..thats eleven years ago....the way Petra demolished her in 2011 was clinical.
USA Open is another place she has lost and yet the media build her up as favorite...9yrs ago.
the only place she seems to play okay is Roland Garros and AO if the draw opens up.
Cibby has a good record against pova...she is not invincible.

Oh, I'm not denying Maria is a fighter there are some matches she should have lost and didn't because she kept chugging along, but my point was more to your point about how many slams she would have had if Serena hadn't been in her way. There were a number of times where Serena wasn't in her way, and she still fell short.

True. Still I'd give her two of three more at least.
