The 2015 Fed Cup final is between defending champion Czech Republic and Russia. The Czech Repubic defeated France 3-1 and Russia defeated Germany 3-2 in the semifinals back in April. The final is going to be held on November 14th and 15th in Prague, Czech Republic. The team members are supposed to be announced 10 days before the final at the latest. The Czechs will be going for their 9th Fed Cup and the Russians will be going for their 4th (including years as the USSR).

Why the Czechs have not included their doubles specialists H......ova, and H.........ova.
I was expecting a team of Kvitova, Pliskova and the H doubles.

Fed Cup starts in about 24 hours! I love these team competitions so very interested in this one. It will be played in Prague, so the Czechs are favored to win their 4th title on the last five years.

While the Czechs are favored, it could go either way. You never know which Kvitova you're going to get, Safarova's fitness is still suspect and if these two are not up to their top level, the Russians could take it. Sharapova is looking for her Olympic ticket so she's here, and Kuznetsova and Pavlyuchenkova both won titles last month. Makarova has been injured since the USO, but she is a great doubles player so if she is returning to form, the doubles could go Russia's way. Either way, this one could go down to the last match.

Yeah usually the teams aren't so well ranked. The Czech players have really risen the last two years.

The surprising nomination for Saturday is this:
Petra Kvitova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova
Karolina Pliskova vs Maria Sharapova

Is this the official lineup for now? Interesting!

The Czechs have a very good chance. Petra always shows up for Fed Cup. The wildcard will be Pliskova. If she wins one of her matches, I would say the Czechs take it 3-1 and then the doubles won't matter.

After dropping the first set 2-6, Kvitova leads the second 4-0. Who knows which Petra we'll get in the final set...
