And it's another love service game for Nishikori. Just ridiculous. Some actual misses and some points given away but not many. Mostly winners I believe.

Did we time slip back to 1985 Wimbledon?

Double fault kept him from a love service game but aces number 15 and 16 get him to the tiebreak. Commentators said there were NINE love service games in this set. 2 of them the love breaks.

A mini break and aces numbers 17 and 18 get Wawrinka up to 3-0 in the tiebreak.

6-6. Saves 5 match points. Important to note that Stan missed his first serves when serving for it at 6-3 and 6-4. Ace 20 eludes him. One more serve for Kei.

Oh no no no no. Went for a drop shot. Missed it. Match point number 6 for Stan. On his serve.

What an AWFUL drop shot by Nishikori! Anyways, congrats on Wawrinka on the win. He served well and he was great on the baseline. On the same token, that was a sub par performance from Nishikori. I felt like he didn't pressured Wawrinka until the third set and tiebreak.

He found ace #20. Wow. Truly great play from Stan today. Commentators talking about his immense power today and they're right. Just absolutely unstoppable off both sides and great serving. Gave Kei barely any chance. Kei couldn't put it past him. Stan just stretching for everything. Commentators said at some point that the court must seem so small to Kei because Stan is just always there. Disheartening to see Kei fall.

And if he plays like this.... the discussion yesterday about Djokovic having this wrapped up or not is moot. Because he does not. Wawrinka could definitely beat him. No doubt in my mind. That was superb. I haven't really believed he could defend it. But boy do I now. That was ridiculous. Now of course, what I'm worried about is that he's just used up all his amazing play and that he won't be able to play quite that great again. But if he is able to, it looks unstoppable. He's better than last year. He's looking to get back to that final and prove that he didn't just win last year because Nadal was injured. Very impressed. Surprised even at how good he was. Kei took too long to get into the match, though that was partially because Stan wouldn't let him.

That drop shot wasn't the wrong choice I don't think. It barely clipped the net and Stan would not have been able to get there had he made it. But, he didn't. Close but no cigar. At least in that set.

Meanwhile, Chicago ends Golden State's home winning streak at 19. 113 to 111 in OT. Kept it close all game. Hate to see it because I'm more of a Curry/Golden State fan. But they played hard and deserved the win.

Impressive performance by Stan. He definitely has a chance in the semi assuming Djokovic wins tonight. It's really shaping up to be some great semis if Nole takes out Raonic. It'd be a rematch from the past 2 years which produced classic 5 set matches and Stan is coming in playing very well. On the other side Berd and Murray are both playing great too. It will be interesting to see who survives in the end.
