The only 2 events he entered outside the US Open was Toronto masters where he had his first win over Giraldo, then he lost to Murray in R2, and he lost also to Matosevic at Kula Lumpur, then he announced he will not compete any further in 2014, citing he is burn out, disappointing Kieran by this statement.
So he played quite sporadically.

Citing burnout after so few matches played??? That's even more concerning!! :nono

A

auto-pilot

Murray's return of serve was jawdroppingly brilliant in this match, one of the greatest returning exhibitions I've ever seen.
Berdych has a good record versus Murray, but I think Murray is in rare form and will make the final.

Herios, you weren't sold on Nick as early as a couple of weeks ago. Did you change your stance?

Exactly. He's only a sprog but he needs his pillow. I hope he shows up this year for the daily grind stuff, that's where the players really have to show their mettle...

Just slightly. He faired a lot better than I was expecting, scoring two good wins over Karlovic and Seppi. He is a big event player, he likes the spotlight and thrives on showing off in front of big crowds. That is a plus.
But, just look, he is yet again injured and withdrawing from small events. Problems with L3 vertebra is not good news for the long haul. That is where the sciatica nerve is starting and if you damage that you are pooped. I still do not see him an elite player because of these issues,. He could develop into a Tsonga as many said. So long term forecast for him, IMO is a top 10 player, with possible master titles as the ceiling.

Kyrgios has withdrawn form a couple of tourney including Dubai due to back injury. He won't
be in action until DC 1st round.
