Nadal will bounce back. It was a bad loss, yes, but there's always so much unfortunate and unnecessary hyperbole when a player of his caliber loses in a match like this. I didn't expect much from him at this year's AO, anyway. I mean, whether you're a fan of his or not, he was under-prepared. This is pretty evident. He barely played in the latter half of 2014, and had a very shaky start this year.

Well done, Berdych! After losing 17 straight times to Rafa, it must feel awesome to get a win under his belt and progress to his second consecutive AO SF.

I knew we were jinxed when Rafa wore Pink and why did he wear those short, shorts with a reflector stripe?:)......................

These shorts are getting back to where they belong! It's still more material than the strip across the crotch and butt; showing it all! lol! Check out that FilaWear for Borg, OMG; tight and short! :lolz: :eyepop :devil

Just went to a new page at the AO website and the shot of the day is from Rafa. I don't want to say that you can't give a shot of the day to the loser of a match, because often they really do have an amazing shot, especially if it's a close match and one is fighting, which is exactly when this particular shot is from. 4-4 in the third at 15-all. It's Nadal's great passing shot. It's a very nice passing shot. And maybe they don't have a lot to choose from today. But I guess I've just got it in my head that it's not because it's the best shot of the day but because it's Nadal. Ya know. Like, they know these top guys are the biggest pull and so they need to keep putting them at the top of the page to keep people looking. But, Berdych hit plenty of great shots today. Things that I think were better than this. Ones where he was on the run or in full or almost full stretch. I don't know. Maybe it's just my bias against Nadal. Just seems.... not right. Maybe not wrong. Just, could be better. I'm nitpicking.

By the way, Berdych joins Tsonga as the only two active players to have beaten Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, and Murray in Slams.

As for Nadal, I think he will be fine. He knows he didn't play well and he knows he can improve by just playing matches. I think the most important thing for Nadal at this point is health. I know it is a cliché when talking about Nadal and being healthy but as long he remains injury-free for this season, he will contend with the major tournaments.

Rafa's always worn shorter shorts than everyone else and with the short shorts craze sort of taking over (at least in the states) maybe he feels like he can participate. And let's be real, he can participate, more than any of the college frat boys that are. Because he's a professional athlete (sans baseball) and so he has awesome legs. That's a bit odd for me to say as a guy. But, I mean, it's the truth. They work those legs out. They do not miss leg day as tennis players. Well..... Gilles Simon misses leg day. But that's about it. And as said above, we're at least not back in the 80s where the shorts were up at the crotch.

As to the pink shirt, he's been wearing those for years too. Or at least he's worn them before and won with them. Won tournaments I mean. I think he wore one to the French one year.

As to the reflector strip, that's Nike. Fed's shorts had it too. And his were shorter than normal if I remember correctly. Though not Rafa short.

On first glance, that new NIKE "neo crap" looks rather cheap! I loved the simplicity of Filawear back in the day with Borg, Gerulatis, and Vilas! It was like either crème or white with just an accent of Italian color in the collar; red or green! Beautiful stuff; and expensive!

That's an interesting stat about Berdych and Tsonga. Didn't know that. Pretty cool though. It goes along with his stat as one of the few to reach all the semis of the all the slams. Something Murray is still technically stuck at for now, having not made the French final yet. He's a few wrungs above of course, with slam wins and making the final of the other 3, but still technically has only made the semis of all the slams.

Anyways, I'm sitting here wondering when he beat Djokovic in a slam. Wimbledon 2010 maybe? I guess I could look it up. Meh.

No he has Not,I have followed Rafa when he first came on the tour btw,he wore long shorts,it wasnt until 2009 when Nike and Rafa, decided to change his clothes,he won the AO that year by the way, maybe Nike did Rafa a favour,Rafa has said he does like Fluro colours.Rafa wore Pink to RG in 2009 I was there live by the way,it is the only match he has lost, losing to Soderling, who deserved his win by the way.

Federer should set up a trust for Soderling's family after helping him out in '09! I'd definitely get him something nice like a car if I were Roger! He may have and it's been "hushed up!" :lolz:  :devil

Thank you Tomas for this unexpected surprise this morning, well done!

This should keep the no 1 spot safe for quite some time now.

Nadal looks almost pissed off in that press conference. His comments are pretty telling regarding how disappointed he is in his performance in the first two sets. Pretty sincere comments too. Almost Federer like. Didn't even sugar coat it and give Berdych too much credit, while giving him the right amount.

Nadal declin seems obvious. It was a bad day but I can't imagine him win RG 2015, he seems to be unable to win when a dangerous opponent is on his road

Nadal has had a very bad day and his opponent playing his best. He said before the tournament started that he didn't have too many expectations to do a good tournament but he would try his best.
Everything has the time and he will do much better soon, it's not easy to comeback from an injury and surgery, if not ask Muzz how long was playing poorly
