I have to admit back in the 00s that I never would have thought Serena would make it this far. I doubt anyone did. What she has done in the last 3~4 years is amazing. She just may pass Graf. And even Court.

2nd serve is a bit of a liability for Serena and something to work on. Everything else was great mostly although a fair few FH errors.

I don't know while the 2nd serve has come down a bit in terms of quality over the past year, she has started to regain a bit more consistency with it. More clutch this year than she was with it last year. Even a few second serve aces with it this tourney. However, hers is much more reliable than any of the other women's second serves even if it has lost something at times. Fortunate thing for Serena is everyone else's second serve is more attackable than hers.

Actually I feel when Serena won her 18th GS title at the USO,she turned the corner and I feel confident that she can pass Seffi Graf with 22 GS titles.

I still have the feeling that the end will come suddenly for Serena. We're witness to something special and each one has the potential to be her last.

Imo a chance she'll match her but passing her would take a lot. Last year hurt her chances significantly but she's started this year with bang so who knows.

True, everyone else's is more attackable. It's not so much that hers is a sitting duck that will be returned as a winner but she's behind in the rally right away if her opponents don't hit a service winner. Should go for better placement with a kick 2nd serve or body serve more often I reckon.

I felt there was a lot of pressure on Serena to win her 18th Grand Slam title, she also puts enough pressure on herself, being the perfectionist she is,I think she is really enjoying her tennis more now,she just said that to the commentator's Renee Stub's live at a post match conference that was shown live here on channel 7.

I would say she has to win at least 3 slams this year to put herself in a good place to match or pass Graf. Her confidence is great at the US Open as she has been the finalist or better 4 years in a row. Wimbledon, she should easily contend if she continues the good serving. She even stands a great shot at the French her record on clay has improved leaps and bounds. Health is the big thing. I hope she takes 3-4 weeks off to rejuvenate. I don't think she took a long enough break between seasons which could easily have lead to her susceptibility in getting sick.

That is the one serve Serena doesn't use as much that I feel she should do more: the body serve. I think had she employed it more over the years matches would not have gotten nearly as tight on her as they have at times.

Congrats Serena . That was a great match and just was nice to watch. I enjoyed their match today. I feel the second set become close because serena wasn't moving properly at all. The cold affected her in some way. Only her aces kept her in that set

Serena won with a walk off Ace, Bravo!

I got the feeling it was a good thing she did as it was looking dodgy there towards the end. Coming up with another ace out wide right after the let call was unreal focus too.

The normally very witty Dr. Ivo overstepped the line with this one.
