RE: AO 2015: WTA Early Poll & Draw

If we are to take players going on form into the Australian Open, personally I feel Maria has to be the 'in form player' okay there will be posters that think she didnt have a lot of competition until the final, well in ways that was the way the draw panned out, also she was the No 1 seed at Brisbane. In saying that no player that has won Brisbane title has ever gone on to win the Australian Open.

I still have questions marks with Ivanovic,to me she dosent play the Big Points Well in matches, she had her chances against Maria in the final at Brisbane and could not convert them.To me that is what seperates a ordinary player to a champion player, champion player's play the Big Points Well when it counts.

I still have reservations with Kvitova, after watching live the womens final at Apia International,Sydney yesterday, she still tends to lose focus in matches, also she appeared to me to have low energy at times in that final.

Halep who had to pull out of Sydney due to a stomach virus,to me had enough match play for the Australian Open, winning a title in China,it still remains to be seen, how she will go at the Australian Open.

Serena, well count her out at your own peril, she is a player that can easily 'switch back on' even when she hasnt been playing her best tennis.Believe me she will be fired up at this year's Australian Open, she has No 19 Grand Slam title on her mind.

I am looking forward to the Australian Open,it is hard to predict the winner, being the first Grand Slam of the year.

Tough one to predict as of all of you have said this is a great field and I think a wide open event. Sentimentally I should go with Eugenie, but my brain cells(what I have left of them) says Maria Sharapova.

Hey I am voicing what I believe to be true.

Nope. I don't know how many ways I can say this. What you're actually doing is accusing the ITF, WTA, ATP and other governing bodies of corruption without providing any proof. That is not allowed on Tennis Frontier.

Sounds like special700 has paranoia issues. Why don't you quit while you're behind, buddy and only talk about the on-court stuff ?

I think it's high time that the ITF and the Grand Slams designates the 32 seedings to play each other accordingly in Uneven numbers for the top half and even numbers in the bottom section. That's including Rd of 32's,R16's, Quarterfinals and SF's . Also in those circumstances, we wouldn't get silly conspiracist's whinners.

Even with her draw I still can't pick Maria. It's not that I think she crumbles under pressure but history kind of shows that every single slam she's won have come at times when she was not really considered a top tier contender. I remember after her shoulder surgery there were 3 or 4 hard and grass court slams where tennis journalists kept picking her to win and she never did until the F.O. where nobody expected that.

I think Pliskova goes deep this time, aided by the decimation of seeds. The weak bottom half got substantially weaker after day one. Pova, Halep, and the rest must be happy.
