I never understand why seeings anywhere other than Wimbledon matter? Doesn't every slam except occasionally Wimbledon just seed based on rankings?

SK, I agree. Years ago when seeds were not based on rankings, it must have been exciting waiting for the announcement. These days, it is non news.

I think it's a formality and the anticipation of it all for the slams. Right after the seeds are announced, the draw comes a few days later.

Right. I wasn't knocking you or anything. It just seems strange that they even announce them as if they ever change them. I sure wish they made at last a few exceptions every year.

Azarenka/Stephens could be a great first round match, but then Caroline has to face the winner ...

Assuming she gets through that obstacle (and I think she will), it will be better for her, psychologically, to face Serena in a quarterfinal, instead of the final.
