How quickly this thread got ditched after the big names departed! Well done to Daveed, a great start to his season... :clap

That is more like a black eye on what kind of one sided forum this is, really.

Don't be so dramatic. If tickets for the finals weren't bought in advance, I'd like to see how many people would have actually thought "YAY! Ferrer vs. Berdych? Two long time perennial top tenners who almost never beat the absolute elite or win anything of significance? Can't miss that!"

This isn't a black eye on the forum. This is a reflection of the greater fanbase in the tennis world in general. Hate to be so blunt but very few people legitimately care about Ferrer, Berdych, or some of the other names in this tournament unless they're still invested in said tournament (or at least, they don't care enough). Once the favorites were out, interest was always going to decline, and not just on these forums.

I know you like underdogs and I respect that but you have to understand that you're a rare case. Federer, Nadal and Djokovic are much more popular than other players. Who knew?

It's not forum-specific. At least I'd be stunned if you could point out even one forum in which Doha continued to get lots of attention after the big names lost.
