OK Si, you win.

Oh relax, I already beat Navratilova and Nigel Sears in Doha on March 2014, so thats not a new thing for me :D
If they cant get Simona's way of playing then so cant you. Its totally normal. You are in a very good company ;)

Just like Federer... it takes time to get their style of play :)
Her mask face today was just like Federer.

P.S. I am very humble I know ;) just a phase

But you got beat on you pick here...
I guess we have to agree to disagree in this case.

Congrads to Simo in making her first Wimby semifinal.

what? You still say that I thought Simona will lose? What kind of fan do you think I am? :D nevermind, we are going too low here I am afraid and its getting ridiculous.

I voted Genie in 2 sets against Simona. You must be sure again that I mean it :D

I get it. People do all kinds of superstitious things, including voting/betting against the person they really want to win.

If Sabine couldnt win this set against a ghost Simona in the first games, then how is she gone win the 2nd set. I give Sabine NO CHANCE in 2nd set. Lets see if I am wrong.

No I was not wrong ;)
Sabine didnt even try to change something. Just gave up. Needs to learn some things from Tzurenko and all the other hard working girls on the tour who have less talent than her.

Yeah, please be nice to my buddy Kiu. :)

But what an incredible match today by Halep. When I saw the score was 4-1 Lisicki in the first, I thought, "OK, Simona will have to come back and win it in three." NOT!

The mental focus and inspiration she harnessed to win 11 games in a row in a GS quarterfinal is incredible.

The crazy part of it is that it really looks the way you describe it, but it was not like that.
She didnt suddenly exploded or changed her mind set. She was on some sort of a strange calmness through the whole match. very strange, Federer like, no emotions. Imo, she blocked her emotions intentionally. She can get very emotional. She decided that she doesnt get emotional at any cost.
Her first 5 games were real bad. Imo it was all about nerves and her trying to control her nerves.
She did NOT look nervous and managed to hide it well to avoid more pressure on her from the outside.

Welp, not pleased to see these results from this morning at all. Not pleased one bit. Bouchard basically just getting lucky and making the semis. But I basically called Halep taking out Lisicki. Can't believe there was a bagel though. It makes no sense with that serve. Ridiculous. Here's to Kvitova taking it all!

By the middle of the second set, the serve was gone, Sabine was done, she just didn't have it.
It was the exact same way she lost to Bartoli last year.

Simple. Sabine left the court after 1st set. She gave up. 2nd set was a formality.
And Simona didnt even had to fight today, her easiest match in wimby 14. Drinking tea with milk(?) was more stressful today for her. ;) Very strange match.

Not having it in your first slam final I fully understand. Not having it in the semifinals, somewhere you've been 3 or 4 times, and you're the defending finalist, is unacceptable. She's just such a head case. So annoying. But, all that says is at this point she's not ready to win Wimbledon. She wants it so much. She's such a radiant lady, with that smile. But she's just not there yet.

At the same time, we truly may be seeing Halep step into the role of the next great player. I hate to say that, but it definitely looks like a distinct possibility. I mean, she's just playing on a really great level. Bouchard seems like a contender for that spot too, but I don't think she's quite solid enough. Hopefully neither one of them wins this thing or become the only dominant players from their younger generation. I'd love to see more parity. At least, if Serena's not going to rule.

1) Genie is very solid imo. Thats her main strength for me.
2) Simona played bad today! I can give her no more than note 7 and even that is too much. Sabine was no threat. Diaz and Tzurenko needed more effort. Weird match.
