Behind 1-4 in the fist set, Simo has yet to fire the first winner off her racket.
This is not going the way I envisioned it.

damn... took me 7 games to get it! Simona was just too nervous and was trying to avoid a mental breakdown of her system. She preferd to be calm at all cost just to avoid her nerves breaking her down.
GOT YOU SIMO! :) Now lets start playing.

HAIDE SIMONA! :)

It took her a few games to get used to Sabine's pace on the grass. She's OK Si.

:D :D :D 6-4 for Ghost Simona :laydownlaughing
If Sabine couldnt win this set against a ghost Simona in the first games, then how is she gone win the 2nd set. I give Sabine NO CHANCE in 2nd set. Lets see if I am wrong. :)
Only a huge choke by Simo will give her the match now.

Simona serve in the first games was worse than Serena's serve in her doubles match yesterday ;)

Oh, I think it does.
Sabine's strokes are one of the heaviest on the tour, everyone knows that.
Sabine's errors are piling up, this is what I feared. She already has 16

^ And this is why I picked Simona. Sabine is erratic. Her good days are like a perfect storm (they don't happen so often).

Oh I am sure its not. Tzurenko hits just as hard but has no serve. Diaz hits hard too, you people dont follow much the lower level players. Pace is no issue for Simo. She played hitters all her life. What was Kvitova in New HAVEN?...

It was all about nerves. I thought she grew over this phase but its good! She must be nervous before such a big game in her career. I get it now.
SHE WAS LIKE A GHOST UNTIL 4-1. NO SERVE. Nothing to do with Sabine.

HAIDE SIMO :D

OK Si, you know best.

Simo in total control, up 4-0 in the second set. Sabine can't get the ball past the net anymore.
This is done, I am off to see Genie.

Simona forced her into alot of errors. Even Sabine's usually successful dropshots were being abused. Great win for Halep to get to her first SF against a great grass courter. 6-4 6-0

Simo takes it 6-0, gives Sabine a donut!

Only 2 voters got it right, yours truly and Tented.

#2 rankings still in the works.
Where is that ranking's-update-site you showed us Si, I lost the link.

Seriously, from mental point of view this was Simona easiest match in the tournament !
Simona got much more resistance in the previous rounds. Sabine couldnt feel Simona's match and was beaten again and again.
Drop shots were a trap by Simona to make Sabine lose the point. :D Sabine had no clue. She was beaten in the brain department. I like Sabine a lot but in Madrid she was much better v Simo, and she is considered grass player.
SO WEIRD that in Madrid she played much better.
