They just mentioned that this is Raonic's longest match of his career already, and this is in a master, not slam.

No way this is correct.

Very happy in the end.

Nole won and Milos played a heck of a match as well.

That is what they said. Prove them wrong.

I heard them say longest 3 setter of his career. Go Nole.

^ Yes, they said longest 3 set match. There is no way he hasn't played a longer best of 5 at a major.

Novak really doesn't like the big servers regardless of surface. In a match of the game's best returner vs. one of its best servers it usually is the best server getting the better of him. Of course Nole will usually beat the Raonic's, Isner's and Karlovic's of the world but that's due to him having way more game overall.

I thought Nole would be a little vulnerable to the Raonic and lose a TB; called it yesterday! :nono  I've seen it happen with Isner as well!

I hope I'm wrong but this is a pretty rough match-up for Raonic. He needs an out of this world serving performance and given that it's clay, even that won't be enough. He also needs a lot of help from Djokovic. That makes for a lot of needing. Djokovic in 2.

Love him, but Nole continues to have brain farts and will drop a set in a TB! Ya gotta give Raonic some credit for making it this far! :clap

:lolz:

I missed the whole thing but looks like Milos is getting there.

I guess I gave more credit to Raonic for getting so far! :clap I've seen him challenge Rafa at his best so you don't need to be clairvoyant that he'd take a TB; just like an Isner before him in other tournaments!

The first two sets were without a doubt his best sets on clay in his career.
He started to have more errors towards the end of the match in the 3rd, perhaps being tired.
Now he withdrew from Nice, which is good, because he doesn't need more play before RG.
Unless Dimi wins the whole thing in Rome, Milos recaptured #9 ranking and will be seeded 8 at RG, that is crucial if he wants to go deep there.

Gladly. The match took exactly 3 hours (not a minute more, not a minute less). A quick search gives me this about Raonic: "He was beaten by Lleyton Hewitt of Australia, 6–4, 3–6, 6–7(5–7), 3–6, in 3 hours 6 minutes"

That's probably not the longest match of his career either, but that will do for now.
