I will wait until the schedule is out for R2 to see when Nole is playing, then I will try to spend that day at the Rogers Cup, seeing as many (hopefully) of my favorites that day.

Somebody who is supposed to run the challenge for the Toronoto Masters is slacking
off? Who is that, come out and run the contest. :(

Awesome. I will pay a visit tomorrow to see the last of the qualifying, and than next Saturday for the semis.:)

I think you should start taking slow looks at the draw. It is Murray and
then Stan or Dimi.

I blame it on a dyslexic condition stemming from incredulity - that Novak would meet Murray in a quarter before facing a Wawrinka or a Dimitrov in the semi.

Still living in the past my friend? It is a new reality out there, the Big 4 is now Big 3.

Ridiculously excited for this masters event. I've been watching 17 sports over 11 days at the Commonwealth Games and it's been fantastic BUT it will be nice to see tennis again.

I'll set it up, GSM, but you should always feel welcome to, if no one else steps up.

Thanks for doing it Moxie.

To lighten the load for the mods, I thought we had the scheme where the
person who won the previous contest was "rewarded" with the task of running
the next contest. This way the contest was supposed to run itself for ever. But, I
could not remember who won the contest last time, as it was so long ago
and hence the message.

A bonus for Donald Young for putting a good performance in Washington DC. He gets
into the main draw of Rogers Cup via special exemption without having to play qualifying.

Today in R1 Qualification, some notable surprises:
Schnur (Canada) eliminates Ebden in 2 sets
F. Martin (France) eliminated Becker

I thought same, and I appreciate that, but I surely can't remember who it was, and it's easy enough to start it. The important thing is that we put the challenge up. Let the challenge begin!

The four wild cards in the Cincy tourney are awarded to Jack Sock, Ginepri,
Sam Querry and Steve Johnson. This means the only way that DY can play
in Cincy without going through the qualifying is to get SE again. Chances of
that happening is very less.

Canadian Master's was won in 2003 by Andy Roddick. Since then, all the 10 editions
are won by members of Big Four with the following distribution.

Rafa ---------- 3
Novak -------- 3
Fed ----------- 2
Murray ------- 2

Roger generally seems to do well in Toronto as opposed to Montreal. He won
in 2004 and 2006. Had a weird loss in the opener to Simon in 2008, lost the
finals to Murray in 2010 and didn't participate in 2012 due to scheduling issues
with Olympics.

After their awesome match at Wimbledon, I want to see a Roger/Nole rematch.

Tomic, Kamke, Smyczek and Paire all make it through qualifying, joined by Canadian Braydon Schnur, a 19 year old ranked in the 600s. He defeated Ebden 75 62 and Sugita 61 63, good for him.

I'll be interested to see where Tomic and Paire slot into the draw. Potential opponents for qualifiers are Karlovic, Falla, Anderson, Mahut, Seppi and Garcia-Lopez, there's one all-qualifier first round match.

Had a great morning at the Roger's Cup, watched some qualies and pretty much everyone was hitting with someone.
Murray was hitting with David and looked good, so did Mauresmo.

Stan the man was hitting with Berdych. Solid.

Youzhny was hitting with Anderson.

Simon was hitting with Tsonga.

Gulbis was too far, I could not see the opponent, same with Fabio.

Sock was hitting with GGL.

Isner is a big boy, and he was hitting with Kohly.

The Canadian kid, Braydon is pretty solid. He is in the 600s but beat a guy 131. The next Canadian maybe?

It is official: Tomic has the weakest legs I have ever seen. Up until now, it was on tv. Now, it was live and yes, you move him, you win.

Great day of tennis overall.

Murat how is your mayor doing? Is he still in office? Is he invited for awarding the
trophy to the winner?
